WWE News: Current Champion Calls Out Triple H Ahead Of WWE In-Ring Return

One of the current champions on WWE’s roster decided to talk some trash with none other than “The Game” Triple H, suggesting the two could be headed for a match in the near future. The television personality known for his role as part of the WWE’s “Authority” hasn’t been featured much within WWE programming ever since losing to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 33. However, he’s set to make his comeback to in-ring action this weekend and one superstar appears to be stepping up to challenge him.

According to a recent report, the current United States Champion Baron Corbin seems to be calling out “The Cerebral Assassin” via Twitter. The Lone Wolf replied to a tweet Triple H sent out regarding the fact that he had packed his gear for “a fight” in Chile this weekend. Corbin told Triple H he needed to find a fight he can win but gave him some friendly advice, suggesting that he stay away from the U.S Champion in the ring. Those are some bold words from Corbin aimed towards one of the toughest competitors in the ring over the past several decades. It also suggests that maybe Triple H will take on Corbin over in Chile.

As Sportskeeda mentions, the WWE SmackDown Live tour of Chile is set to include Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode, the WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, and Baron Corbin. The recent trash talking thrown out on Twitter by Corbin seems to suggest he may have an opponent in Chile in the form of the multiple-time WWE Champion. This would create a first-time matchup that fans haven’t seen before and give HHH someone to get a strong win over in his in-ring return. Most likely, this match wouldn’t involve the WWE United States Championship.

With the big news that Kurt Angle will be a part of this Sunday’s WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2017 pay-per-view, it could even be that WWE is headed towards that rumored match at WrestleMania 34 with Triple H taking on Angle. There’s already a bit of a setup there for the backstory with Angle being put in charge of Raw as the General Manager by Vince McMahon and Triple H possibly returning to get involved in a power clash involving Angle and Stephanie. However, that may be a pipe dream for many fans to see that sort of match take place, and if so, it’s going to be probably a six-month wait to see it.
