Marilou Danley is a woman at the center of controversy as it relates to Stephen Paddock, the Las Vegas shooter. As reported by the Inquisitr, Paddock can be seen in photos with Marilou in the Philippines, years prior to the mass shooting. News that Paddock sent $100,000 to an account in the Philippines also has placed the focus on Marilou, with authorities trying to determine if Danley received the money directly from Paddock.
Update: Newsweek has now retracted their report about Marilou, which initially cited public divorce records.
“Newsweek has retracted its story that reviewed public records of Marilou Danley, the girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock. The initial report was based on the marriage record of Danley, who was known under a different name when she married Geary Danley in Clark County, Nevada. Newsweek mistakenly matched that record to a second public record of a different person.”
As seen in the below NBC News video, Marilou was wheeled through Los Angeles International Airport by FBI agents on Tuesday evening. Danley appeared to be wearing a sun visor that Marilou pulled down low over her eyes as agents wheeled her through the airport and Danley wheeled her own suitcase from the Philippines. Stephen Paddock was Danley’s boyfriend for several years, but Marilou apparently wasn’t treated kindly by Paddock, who verbally abused Marilou, according to the Washington Post.
“He would glare down at her and say — with a mean attitude — ‘You don’t need my casino card for this. I’m paying for your drink, just like I’m paying for you.'”
According to Newsweek, Marilou Danley is still a “person of interest” into the crime investigation, and Marilou is also a woman with a colorful past. The publication uncovered that Danley is a native of the Philippines who has had two Social Security numbers in the more than 20 years that she’s lived in the U.S., and that she was married to one man without dissolving her marriage to another man. Once Marilou Natividad, Marilou became Marilou Danley when she married Geary Danley in 1990. The 76-year-old Danley, from Arkansas, was falsely named as the shooter by right-wing websites, according to the Washington Post.

By 1996, Marilou married another man – Jose Bustos – and switched from Marilou Danley to Marilou Bustos, but didn’t dissolve the marriage to Danley until years later. Marilou’s divorce records reveal that she dissolved her marriage to Danley in 2015. Marilou has a daughter who lives in California, but confusion exists over Marilou’s real age. Marilou Natividad-Bustos hails from California with a January 1962 birthday, which makes her 55. But a differing Nevada Social Security number list Marilou Lou Danley with a December 1954 birthday, making her age 62, which lines up more closely with the 61 years of age Marilou claimed she was on Facebook in 2016.
