North Korea Can Hit The US Mainland With Ballistic Missiles At Any Time, Warns Head Of US Missile Defense

A United States defense chief has reportedly warned that North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile with the possibility of a nuclear warhead can reach America’s mainland and will be fired imminently by Kim Jong-un.

During this week’s House Armed Services Committee, the head of the U. S. Missile Defense Agency James Syring made the shocking announcement about the nuclear tensions between Pyongyang and Washington.

As earlier reported by the Inquisitr that in the recent time Kim Jong-un tested his multiple missiles. He has also reportedly declined to UN sanctions, and this shows that the threats from the hermit kingdom have no sign of diminishing anytime soon.

Vice Admiral Syring said to the committee that the U.S. “must assume that North Korea can reach us with a ballistic missile.”

He added: “I would not say we are comfortably ahead of the threat.”

Given the recent facts and figures, the hermit state has reportedly ignored the warning of G7 summit leaders and fired one short-range ballistic missile that landed in the Sea of Japan. The current non-cooperative actions by Kim Jong-un and his government proved that they have made huge strides in developing the range of their missile forces.

“The advancements in the last six months have caused great concern to me and others in the advancement of and demonstration of a technology of ballistic missiles from North Korea,” said Syring.

Syring added that the U.S. missile programs may not be able to protect its mainland from an imminent strike by the hermit state.

Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis stated during his international security conference in Singapore that North Korea’s attempt to acquire a fully functional nuclear-armed missile capable of threatening the U.S. mainland is a matter of grave concern. Mattis added that Donald Trump’s administration is working very hard with the Chinese to end this problem with North Korea and its supreme leader.

“We cannot and will not accept unilateral, coercive changes to the status quo in the South China Sea,” he said.

He added: “While competition between the U.S. and China, the world’s two largest economies, is bound to occur, conflict is not inevitable. Our two countries can and do co-operate for mutual benefit. We will work closely with China where we share a common cause.”

In addition to all the recent statements, North Korea’s state-run newspaper has reportedly warned President Trump that his country should back down from South Korea if he wishes to save the lives of hundreds of millions of his citizens.

“The US would be well advised to urgently take measures to save the lives of hundreds of millions of Americans in the mainland rather than being concerned about the security of those in South Korea.”

The United States of America has the strongest military in the world but as former President Ronald Reagan said in 1983, “The defense policy of the U.S. is based on a simple premise: The United States does not start fights. We will never be an aggressor. We maintain our strength in order to deter and defend against aggression — to preserve freedom and peace.”

So it is highly unlikely that under Donald Trump’s administration the United States will wage a war against Korea. The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley recently said that the United States will continue to seek a “peaceful, diplomatic resolution to this situation.” However, Haley added that under President Trump, their country is prepared “to counteract North Korean aggression through other means, if necessary.”
