Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s Vanderpump Rules spinoff has yet to air, and according to a new report, the couple may not be together by the time the series premieres.
After filming their spinoff series, Vanderpump Rules: Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky, Jax Taylor is reportedly feeling “pressured” to propose to his girlfriend of two years, and although he promised to propose “soon” last August while attending the wedding of Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz, he may be getting cold feet.
“[Jax Taylor] and [Brittany Cartwright] had a hiccup with their relationship because of the show,” a source close to the couple told Radar Online on May 22. “He said he wants to marry her, but he’s not ready.”
Jax Taylor began dating Brittany Cartwright in early 2015 after hitting it off during a trip to Las Vegas. Since then, the couple has been living together in Los Angeles as they work alongside one another at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Restaurant, where Vanderpump Rules is filmed. The couple has also been traveling with one another and recently attended the festivities surrounding the Kentucky Derby with their co-stars, Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval.
While fans will have to wait and see what happened during filming on their spinoff, the Radar Online insider claimed Brittany Cartwright’s allegedly “overbearing” family reportedly hounded Jax Taylor to propose and promptly sent their relationship into “rocky territory.”

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright were first seen discussing the idea of marriage during the fourth season of Vanderpump Rules. However, at that time, Taylor claimed he wasn’t on board with the idea and didn’t think it was a necessary part of his future. Meanwhile, Cartwright appeared devastated by the news and spoke of her desire for marriage and children in the future.
After filming on Vanderpump Rules Season 4 wrapped, Jax Taylor appeared to have a change of heart about marriage, and while he wasn’t completely ready to make the commitment, he told The Daily Dish in November 2016 that he was warming up to a future engagement.
“Before Brittany I was not about marriage. It was not going to happen for me. I didn’t believe in marriage. Not because I didn’t love Brittany, I just didn’t believe in marriage. It just wasn’t for me,” he said. “As time progresses, I’m starting to open my mind about it a little bit more because I do love her and that’s something she wants. And I’m willing to bring the idea back. We’ll see. I just hate divorce. I hate it. I’ve done a lot of things in my life, it’s just kind of the one box I don’t want to check off that I’ve done.”
Jax Taylor went on to gush over his girlfriend, telling the outlet that Brittany Cartwright is “so sweet, so kind” and “has a lot of patience.” He also said that everyone loves her and would likely trade him for her any day of the week.
According to Radar Online‘s latest report, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s relationship has been a rollercoaster for the past several months as they dealt with the reality star’s alleged gay past and possible cheating.
During Vanderpump Rules Season 5, Jax Taylor was seen being confronted with the idea of marriage yet again after Cartwright’s mom, Sherri, came to Los Angeles for a visit. As fans may recall, Sherri pressured Jax Taylor to find a church to attend and consider getting married to her daughter. A short time later, filming on their spinoff, which premieres this summer, began.
