Maci Bookout Reveals What It’s Like To Raise Two Children So Close In Age
Maci Bookout is a fan favorite on Teen Mom OG and has always seemed like she has it all together. While she has been criticized in the past for drinking in what some call to excess, she still manages to run a house with two children under two and co-parent her eldest, Bentley, with her ex Ryan Edwards. The mom of three, who is appearing on the current season of the hit reality show, took the time to answer some of the fans’ most burning questions on The Stir.
Maci Bookout didn’t just take the time to answer the questions, but actually sat down to write an entire article based on it. She asked her fans and followers what questions they had for her and chose her favorite three to answer.
The young mom first got real about having two babies. Maci Bookout has previously revealed that she was incredibly nervous about having two children so close in age. While she had planned her daughter, Jayde, her son Maverick was a total surprise. In her new tell-all due out soon, Maci confesses that there were times she didn’t think she had it in her to raise two babies at once, but that her parents, Bentley, and husband, Taylor were incredibly encouraging. But it doesn’t mean her life isn’t hectic. The mom of three also has to contend with two big dogs, Bonnie and Clyde.
She answered the fan question what it is like to raise two children so close in age who aren’t twins.
“For me personally (and many others I’m sure), the answer to this question can change every single moment, of every single day. Which is what makes motherhood the hardest, yet most rewarding journey. There are days (actually every day) where I’m completely exhausted and overwhelmed. You know — the days where it seems like everything has piled up all of a sudden.
“We are out of diapers and formula, and also dog food. One baby wants me to play while the other baby just wants me to lay with them. Bentley needs lunch money yet again, and I can’t forget it’s our turn to bring snacks/drinks for his ball team after the game tonight. Oh and it’s the last day to sign/return the field trip permission form that I did forget about (even though I purposely put the form in spot where I wouldn’t forget about it).”
Maci Bookout has revealed that Maverick suffers from some health issues, which makes raising him incredibly difficult due to his incessant crying. The adorable baby boy has silent reflux, which Maci says sometimes is interpreted as colic or fussiness because there are no other symptoms and the child cannot physically say what is wrong. Viewers of Teen Mom OG will probably notice that Maverick is often incredibly fussy and is often comforted by Taylor, Maci or even sometimes Bentley. This is due to his silent reflux issue, which hopefully he will grow out of as he gets a little bit older.
When Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney appear on Teen Mom OG, we typically only see them in the context of their family, specifically issues surrounding their children. We don’t really see them doing things alone together or get much of a flavor of their favorite TV shows, books, or hobbies.
Maci took the time to clue in her fans on what she likes to watch when (and if) she gets free time.
“A couple of my personal favorites would have to be Suits, Naked and Afraid, Survivor, and How to Get Away With Murder. Also, Taylor and I love watching 60 Days In and Law & Order: SVU. My guilty pleasure is definitely The Real Housewives, but I can only watch RH when I find some alone time, haha!”
