Jake Owen Welcomes First Child

Jake Owen and his wife Lacey Owen have given birth to their first child. The couple on Thursday announced the birth of daughter Olive Pearl Owen. According to Jake’s rep, his daughter was born on November 22.

Little Olive was named after Owen’s late godmother. Olive weight in at a healthy 6 lbs., 3 oz. and 19½ inches long.

Owen tells PEOPLE:

“Lacey and I are so excited to start our own family. We are looking forward to teaching Pearl everything we learned from our parents and also learning from her.”

Owen and his wife were engaged on stage during one of his concerts in April and then wed on a beach in May. The couple announced their pregnancy in June 2012.

It didn’t take long for Jake Owen long to share his daughter with the world, hopping on Twitter while posting the following tweet:

“Today is the greatest day of my life. Turkey baby!!! Happy Thanksgiving.”

This is a much better way to spend his time when compared to Jake’s Cinco De Mayo celebration earlier this year. During the popular drinking holiday, Jake Owen was arrested at a Steak And Shake and eventually tweeted the following message:

“I just got arrested in my hometown. I was wearing an old man mask and the sheriff decided to rip me out of Steak And Shake and embarrass me in front of my family.”

Instead of baby photo, Jake Owen attached a pic of himself in handcuffs during his unfortunate arrest.
