Jill Duggar And Derick Dillard Change Mission Trip Plans, Keep Taking Donations

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard claimed that their break from the mission field would be a short one, but they’ve been back in the states so long that some fans are starting to wonder if they’ll ever return to El Salvador.

Jill and Derick spent the better part of a year living in Central America before returning home to Arkansas last August. The couple has been back for over four months, but Jill and Derick still haven’t revealed a date on which they plan on leaving the comfort of the Duggars’ huge two-story guest house in Arkansas and moving back into their more humble abode in El Salvador.

As the Stir reports, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are still accepting donations for their mission work, but it’s been over two months since the couple has provided their generous donors with an update on how this money is being used. However, as previously reported by the Inquisitr, the couple did make one very noticeable change to the website where they keep fans updated on their mission work: They added a gigantic “donate” button to the front page.

In their most recent blog post about their mission trip, Jill and Derick claimed that their stay in the states would be a brief one and that they planned on spending some of their time back home getting ready to return to Central America.

“While we are stateside in the US for this brief time, we want to continue to make the most of both our time and resources,” the October 6 blog post reads. “Jill and I are taking Bible classes, sharing the story of our mission with people in the US and preparing to return to Central America.”

In a July 16 blog post, Jill Duggar and her husband claimed that they would be returning to the mission field in the fall.

“We are so excited to share that we will be returning in August for a short stateside term that will extend into the fall.”

Winter will soon be here, and as the Hollywood Gossip reports, Jill and Derick have revealed that they plan on staying in the U.S. at least through Christmas. Jill and Derick shared this tidbit of information on their family Facebook page when they posted a photo of a Christmas ornament made from their son’s hand prints.

“Israel and I made an angel ornament for his first Christmas here in the states!” the Facebook post read.

Jill and Derick’s plans have clearly changed. They’ve neglected to let their mission trip donors know this, and they’ve failed to explain why they’ve decided to change their plans.

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard have enough time on their hands to post on social media, so they can’t argue that they’ve been too busy to write up a short blog post explaining why they haven’t returned to the mission field. However, there’s one scenario that may explain their silence. Derick has said that they may change their plans if Jill gets pregnant, so it’s possible that they aren’t going back to El Salvador because one of the many pregnancy tests that she has admitted to taking finally turned out positive.

But why wouldn’t Jill and Derick immediately let their fans and donors know that this is why they’re not returning to the mission field? The answer to this question may be the Duggar family’s reality series, Counting On. The Duggars have a history of using baby announcements as promotional tools for the show, and Season 3 of Counting On will premiere early next year. If Jill Duggar is pregnant, she may wait until the day the first episode of the season airs to share her baby news.

A pregnancy could prevent Jill and Derick from returning to Central America for many months, and they could accrue quite a bit of cash if they keep taking donations during this time.
