Is Selena Gomez Working On A New Album? She Was Spotted With Hit Boy In Los Angeles

Selena Gomez was spotted with Hit Boy in Los Angeles over the weekend and now, fans are wondering if the singer has a new album coming soon.

According to a new report, the 24-year-old “Same Old Love” singer spent time with Hit Boy at Catch restaurant on Saturday night, December 3, and during their outing, Selena Gomez sported a black ensemble while the rapper and producer was seen in blue hoodie, blue shoes and black pants.

As Ace Showbiz revealed on December 6, Hit Boy produced Selena Gomez’s “Revival” title track, “Body Heat” and “Rise,” and during the process, he and his team traveled with Selena Gomez to Joe Francis’ home in Punta Mita, where the Girls Gone Wild creator has a studio.

“Hit-Boy and a few of his producing team, Rock Mafia, and Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels… It was all of us in one house for five or six days,” Selena Gomez revealed at the time, according to a report by Breathe Heavy on December 5. “We would go out, listen to live music, and go back and create in this studio – in a closet, basically. We did four songs there. Only two ended up making the record [‘Revival’ and ‘Body Heat’], but that trip was so crucial. I was just figuring out what I wanted to say.”

Selena Gomez has not yet revealed plans for a new album and in October, as she reportedly tended to her emotional issues in rehab, Us Weekly claimed the singer hadn’t confirmed when she would return to the studio.

“[Selena Gomez] was supposed to be recording, but she hasn’t told anyone when she’ll be back in studio,” a music industry source revealed to the magazine.

Selena Gomez cancelled her “Revival World Tour” in August after an August 13 performance in Auckland, New Zealand.

The possibility of a new Selena Gomez album was also brought up last week by a Hollywood Life source who spoke of the idea while responding to the possibility of a romance between the singer and her rumored ex-boyfriend, Niall Horan.

At the end of last month, after attending the 2016 American Music Awards in Los Angeles, Horan was asked about the possibility of rekindling his alleged romance with Selena Gomez during an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM morning show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest. In turn, the One Direction singer encouraged Seacrest to “sort it out.”

Days later, a source claimed Selena Gomez was flattered by Horan’s comments but not focused on dating.

“[Selena Gomez] is flattered by what Niall had to say to Ryan, but part of her recovery involves no serious relationships,” a source told Hollywood Life. “In fact, for the time being she’s been advised not to date. Plus, dating is pretty much the last thing on her mind now. She is focused on herself and spending time with close friends.”

She’s also reportedly focused on her potentially upcoming album, according to the source.

“[Selena Gomez] is also eager to get back to work both on her music and acting career. She has a lot of material for writing new songs,” the insider added.

Following the August end of her “Revival World Tour,” Selena Gomez made her first post-treatment appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards, where she was named as this year’s Best Female Artist: Pop/Rock. Also during the awards show, Selena Gomez received a hug from Niall Horan and support from several other celebrities, including Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.

Horan also shared a tweet about Selena Gomez the following day in which he applauded the singer, who opened up about her time off and being broken during her acceptance speech, for her bravery.
