Bowl Predictions: Colorado Vs. Wisconsin Rose Bowl, WSU To Holiday Bowl

Bowl predictions now include a Colorado vs. Wisconsin Rose Bowl. The latest bowl projections have come out following the Pac-12 Championship Game that took place Friday night (Dec. 2). An updated report by CBS Sports breaks down how a lot of the teams should be celebrating bowl season, including the Washington Huskies getting an invitation to the College Football Playoff.

At the top of the bowl predictions are Alabama vs. Washington in the Peach Bowl and Clemson vs. Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. The college football experts at CBS Sports are still projecting Michigan, Wisconsin, and Penn State to get locked out of the championship bracket. Clemson has been bumped up to the No. 2 seed, with Washington sliding in at the No. 4 seed now. Alabama and Clemson have conference championship games that are getting played on December 3 before things get settled in the final College Football Playoff rankings.

There are additional Pac-12 bowl projections from the analysts at CBS Sports. They include Colorado vs. Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, USC vs. Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl, Washington State vs. Iowa in the Holiday Bowl, Utah vs. Indiana in the Foster Farms Bowl, and Stanford vs. North Carolina in the Sun Bowl. No Pac-12 teams are in the Vegas Bowl or Cactus Bowl this year, and the Oregon Ducks won’t be receiving an invite to any bowl games.

There is also a new list of bowl predictions from Fox Sports that has come out this weekend as well. The analysts have Washington vs. Alabama in the Peach Bowl, Colorado vs. Penn State in the Rose Bowl, USC vs. Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl, Washington State vs. Minnesota in the Holiday Bowl, Utah vs. Indiana in the Fost Farms Bowl, and Stanford vs. Pittsburgh in the Sun Bowl. This mirrors the bowl projections for Pac-12 schools from CBS Sports now but changes up the opponents a bit.

There had been a lot of chatter about the USC Trojans possibly getting invited to play in the Rose Bowl after beating the Washington Huskies during the regular season. It seems that most of the college football experts and analysts are now sliding over to a prediction that the Colorado Buffaloes will get rewarded for winning the Pac-12 South Division. Even with a loss in the Pac-12 Championship Game, Colorado is getting more respect than anticipated by the analysts coming up with the bowl predictions and projections.

An exception is a recent report by USA Today, that still projects that the Rose Bowl matchup will be USC vs. Penn State. Most of the Pac-12 bowl projections are completely different from the analysts at USA Today. The other games are Colorado vs. Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl, Stanford vs. Iowa in the Holiday Bowl, Washington State vs. Indiana in the Foster Farms Bowl, and Utah vs. Pittsburgh in the Sun Bowl. That shifts every Pac-12 school in the bowl projections, suggesting that either USA Today people know something that the other analysts don’t or that they are going to predict a lot of games incorrectly.

Fans of the Colorado Buffaloes and USC Trojans each feel that their team deserves an invite to the 2017 Rose Bowl. A lot has been left open for debate if the Washington Huskies get invited to play in the College Football Playoff, though, with USC and Colorado both having a shot. Typically, it is the winner of the Pac-12 Championship Game that gets to play in the Rose Bowl, but UW now has a chance to advance to the Nationaal Championship Game this year instead. These Pac-12 bowl predictions and projections will be confirmed or refuted following the next CFP ranking release.
