Katy Perry Sparks Pregnancy, Engagement Rumors At UNICEF Gala

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship has been hot and cold in the past few weeks. It was previously reported that the couple have split after 10 months of dating. Now, rumors are circulating that the couple did not break up and Katy could be engaged and pregnant.

Katy Perry attended the UNICEF Snowflake Ball on Tuesday, Nov. 29 in an interesting gown. Perry’s cream-colored Marchesa gown featured ruffles, applique flowers, and other embellishments around the midsection. There was also buzz about Perry’s behavior on Tuesday night. However, Perry’s rep quickly shut down those pregnancy rumors, telling Page Six that the couple is not expecting their first child together.

It all started when surprise guest Hillary Clinton took the stage to present the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award. Bloom was seen pulling Perry close and holding her on the giant screen. Some even noticed that Bloom placed his hand on Perry’s stomach and rubbing it tenderly in circular motions, causing the pregnancy rumors to swirl.

“It seems like a weird move if she’s not pregnant?” one observer said at the gala.

Another source close to the couple told Page Six that Bloom was only making an “affectionate gesture” and Perry’s rep simply responded to the rumor, saying, “It’s false.”

Prior to the event, Perry spoke to E! News about Bloom on the red carpet. She gushed when asked about being honored a year after him.

“It’s so funny: He was the previous award recipient,” Perry said, speaking about being honored at the organization’s black-tie event. “He’s just got the most kind heart ever.”

Perry also sparked the engagement rumors when the two were spotted having a date night in New York City, according to People. The “Rise” singer was photographed wearing a camel-colored coat and Sophie Theallet separates with a ring on that finger. Perry was beaming from ear to ear as she showed off her new yellow stone that appeared to have a halo of white diamonds around the rock.

Although Perry was proudly showing off the ring on Monday night, on Tuesday night at the UNICEF Snow Flake Ball, she was seen without the rock. Reps for both Perry and Bloom have not responded to the media for comment. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet, the two are apparently serious about their future together, according to sources who have spoken to People.

A source told the outlet back in August that while they are “not engaged yet, but seem to be heading that way.” According to the source, the actor “always gushes about Katy and thinks she’s amazing in a million ways. He would love to settle down with Katy and have kids. He hasn’t been this serious about a girl since Miranda [Kerr].”

Bloom was married to Kerr from 2010 to 2013. Perry was previously married to comedian Russell Brand for a year before the two ended their marriage in 2011. A friend of Perry’s told People that she’s not ready to make a serious “commitment like marriage” until she is completely sure.

Amid the rumors of a sudden breakup, Perry and Bloom proved they were still together when they celebrated Thanksgiving together in matching plaid onesies, according to E! News. Perry took to Instagram and Snapchat to document their day together alongside her family.

Bloom later took to his Instagram page to share a video of him sledding down a snowy mountain with his and Kerr’s son, Flynn, 5, while a woman’s voice that sounds like Perry’s is heard in the background.

Perry has hung out with Bloom’s son in the past. She was seen hanging out with Bloom’s kid in the backseat of his car and celebrating his son’s birthday. She even joined the two on a recent trip to Disneyland Shanghai back in September.
