John McCain Says He Misses Snooki

John McCain is apparently wistful for the good old days, back when he was tweeting to his BFF Snooki and making fun of Barack Obama with her.

In an interview with MTV News, the Republican Senator from Arizona said that he misses Snooki, who he once shared a series of tweets with bashing Obama. In the interview McCain talked about his wishes for the Jersey Shore star, who has settled down from her hard partying ways now that she has a new baby at home.

“I hope you’re happy,” McCain said in addressing Snooki. “I hope everything’s fine with your baby and I wish you’d get rid of some of those jerks you’re hanging around with.”

McCain then added, “But that just comes from an old geezer that doesn’t understand a lot of that lifestyle.”

McCain’s relationship with Snooki dates back to 2010, when she shared her disdain with Obama’s proposal to put a tax on tanning booths, The Huffington Post noted.

At the time, Snooki said: “McCain would never put a 10 percent tax on tanning, because he’s pale and he would probably want to be tan.”

McCain — or at least a younger, more media savvy member of his staff — responded to Snooki’s comments via Twitter, writing, “u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama’s tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!”

Snooki responded by telling John McCain that she voted for him in 2008 “because he was really cute and [she] liked when he did his speeches.”
