Song Joong Ki And Park Bo Gum Stuff Their Gorgeous Faces With Domino’s Pizza — K-Drama Stars Of ‘Descendants Of The Sun’ And ‘Moonlight Drawn By Clouds’ Together In New CF Contract [Video]

The year 2016 marks a year in which K-dramas experienced a phenomenal comeback after the slump they experienced the previous year due to the 2014 “Kpopcalypse.” Fans have seen more free-to-watch K-dramas, averaging double-digit viewership ratings, while pay channel K-dramas are earning more than two percent on average. The former includes Ddandara, Uncontrollably Fond, Doctors, Marriage Contract, Shopping King Louis, and Jealousy Incarnate. The latter K-dramas are mostly from the Total Variety Network, which includes Cheese in the Trap, Reply 1988, Another Oh Hae Young, Signal, and just recently The K2.

However, there are two K-dramas that stand out, not just in popularity, but in boosting the careers of its actors: Descendants of the Sun and Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. Thanks to these two series, both Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum are two of the most-popular K-drama actors in the industry today. Many companies will do whatever they can to sign these two to promote their products in CF contracts. With that in mind, one company was able to pull off the hat trick and get both Joong Ki and Bo Gum on the same CF contract: Domino’s Pizza. Now fans get to see both Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum together stuffing their gorgeous faces with Domino’s pizza in the latest commercial.

The new commercial by Domino’s Pizza shows both Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum in a living room setting about to chow down on the pizza company’s newest concoction for the Korean palette, the braised pork pizza. According to Soompi, the pizza is topped with gruyere cheese and braised pork that is so tender it breaks apart easily. Needless to say, but watching Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum stuff their faces with this pizza is somewhat entertaining. Maybe it is because at that moment, they aren’t acting like the sexy Korean movie and television idols that Hallyu has made them to be, but regular dudes taking bites of pizza that are big enough to be a borderline choking hazard.

Sadly for international K-drama fans, the chances of trying out the braised pork pizza, or any South Korean-style pizza, are slim to none. For starters, many foreigners, especially Americans, have shown distaste for South Korea’s pizzas. As a matter of fact, Digitalsoju TV brought this issue to the forefront in a video, where they have a select panel of Korean girls try American pizza for the first time in their lives.

As mentioned earlier, both Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum are the main male lead actors of their respective Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) K-dramas, Descendants of the Sun and Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. Descendants of the Sun dominated not just Korean television but Asian television in general. It is the one K-drama that forced China to initiate a ban on Hallyu, though it is possible they did it in retaliation to South Korea’s initiation of their Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD). As for Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, it dominated during its airtime just a couple of months ago, leaving other K-dramas like Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo in the dust in the rating numbers of Korean viewership.

Descendants of the Sun and Moonlight Drawn by Clouds are now available on certain streaming sites for free, with ads, pending region. For Descendants of the Sun, it originally streamed on Viki, but is also now available on DramaFever and OnDemandKorea. As for Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, it too was only available on Viki, but is now available on DramaFever and OnDemandKorea too.
