Andy Cohen dropped some major bombshells in his new book, Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries. The reality host, who has spent years rubbing shoulders with celebrities, dished on everything from Taylor Swift's feud with Katy Perry to the John Mayer's drama with Jennifer Aniston.
What other shocking celebrity bombshells did Cohen confirm?
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry FeudCohen writes about a short conversation he had with Swift while attending the Met Ball in 2016 with Sarah Jessica Parker. According to ET Online, Cohen claims that Swift was looking for a seat to view Lady Gaga's performance when he recommended an empty seat next to Perry.
"Why I felt I need to get involved I will never know (maybe I was auditioning for her squad?) but I innocently said exactly the wrong thing to her, which was, 'Your friend Katy is sitting in the corner and there's plenty of room around her," Cohen recounted.
"Katy who?" Swift asked.
"I said, 'Perry,' at which point she clearly let me know that she's the exact opposite of her friend," he explained.
According to Perez Hilton, Swift didn't want Cohen to mention their little chat to anyone, especially with viewers on the show.
"She didn't threaten me about putting it in my book, so here we are," he said.
John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston Reunion
Cohen dished on an incident with John Mayer that almost led to an accidental reunion with Aniston. Cohen was sharing a drink with Mayer during a Friends reunion in 2015 when they spotted Aniston and other Friends alums eating at a table nearby.
"We realized they had to walk by our table to leave and that would be a 'moment,'" he recalled. "As much as I would've loved to see the ultimate reunion -- Aniston and Mayer -- we left before they did and went to bed. Separately."
Michael Strahan AwkwardnessCohen apparently had a lot of interesting conversations at the Met Gala. In addition to his chat with Swift, the reality host shared a few words with Michael Strahan at the event. Cohen discussed Strahan's controversial exit from Good Morning America on his radio show, which the former NFL star said "hurt his feelings."
Cohen convinced Strahan that he meant nothing bad about the segment, and the pair "hugged it out." He also cleared up the rumors that ABC wanted him to replace Strahan as Kelly Ripa's new co-host. Despite rumors, the network never reached out to Cohen about appearance on Live.
Madonna's Unique Smell
Andy Cohen might be Madonna's biggest fan -- ever. The host revealed a hilarious encounter he had with the iconic singer back in May of 2015, where he actually bent down and smooched her ring.
"Literally kneeled by her at her table and said I didn't like all the ageism being leveled at her," he shared.
Cohen added that Madonna has a unique smell to her.
"Are there Madonna approved scents, and then does she have someone in there spraying her scent before she gets there?" he wrote, adding that Dolly Parton has the scent of "dairy and perfume."
Teresa Giudice's Prison Term
Prior to Giudice's stay behind bars, Bravo TV reports that Cohen had a sit-down chat with the reality star where she dished on what she truly thought about the host.
"I also wrote about a top-secret lunch that Teresa and I had right before she went to jail where we got a lot off of our chest. She told me how hurt she had been by me sometimes on episodes of Watch What Happens Live, she had left the show feeling like I had made fun of her or I had hurt her feelings," Cohen wrote.
"I had made a joke about her and how she might look in an orange jumpsuit," he said. "We didn't wind up using that in the one-on-one that I did because it was inappropriate and I apologized to her."
Cohen also explained that he agreed to have lunch with Giudice because he wasn't sure she would ever return to the show.
"I didn't know if she would be coming back to the show if we would be waiting to do the show until she came out."
An Interview with CherCohen recalled a time when he almost got Cher to come on his radio show for an in-depth interview.
"I told her, you can do it from your house and not have to worry about makeup or anything," he stated.
While the interview never materialized, Cohen also claims that he almost had the chance to tour Cher's bedroom, an opportunity he regrets missing.
Cohen's book is now available to purchase in stores and online. In preparation for the book's release, Cohen sat down with Today for an interesting inside look at his writing process, including how celebrities might react once they read about his latest bombshells.
