‘Married At First Sight’ Season 4 Reunion Special Spoilers: Engagement Ring And Two Couples Still Married

Married at First Sight Season 4 reunion special wrapped up another eventful season of FYI’s top-rated docuseries, with two success stories. Two newlyweds made the decision to stay married in the season finale of Married at First Sight Season 4, and they returned on Tuesday night’s special episode to talk about what has changed, as well as not changed since the camera stopped rolling six months ago.

Speaking of what has not changed for both the couples, Sonia Granados and Nick Pendergrast and Lillian Vilchez and Tom Wilson revealed that they have not changed their marital status. They are still married, although all their differences have not been ironed out. Like all the marriages in the real world, Sonia and Nick and Lillian and Tom’s relationships are also work in progress.

Before the telecast of Married at First Sight Season 4 reunion special, there was much speculation about the fate of Nick and Sonia’s marriage, as in the episode preview, Nick was shown not wearing his wedding ring, and one of the relationship experts was seen asking him whether he and Sonia are together or not.

Tuesday night’s episode solved the missing wedding ring mystery, and it had nothing to do with marital discord between Nick and Sonia. Nick had removed the ring to play golf, and he simply forgot to wear it again.

Nick admitted that he sometimes wondered about the absurdity of getting married to a stranger. He also said that Sonia brought out a different side of his personality, adding that he loved that about her, according to US Weekly. Sonia and Nick’s six-week marriage on Married at First Sight Season 4 can be best described as tumultuous, but despite that they decided to not get a divorce, and off-camera, they seem to have found their own kind of “different love” while continuing to be on a roller-coaster ride together.

Nick was happy that they stayed married and he saw himself falling in love with Sonia. She said that she saw a future with Nick, though he was not always emotionally available. The New York Post reported that Sonia saw more positives in Nick compared to his negatives, such as he would make a good father. In the Season 4 finale of Married at First Sight, Nick told Sonia that he would like to have twins as twins run in his family.

“Every day that passes by he’s showing me he’s really in it and he’s looking forward to us being together forever.”

Reunion special preview and sneak-peeks had already confirmed that Tom and Lillian are still married, and the Tuesday night episode showed that their relationship has grown stronger since Season 4’s finale. The two continue to have a healthy sex life, and Tom seemed more committed to making their marriage work.

To show how committed he was to their marriage, Tom got down on his one knee during their walk on the beach and put an engagement ring on Lillian’s finger. While doing that, he told his wife that the ring was his promise to become the best husband.

“This is more than a ring. This is a promise to you to be the best husband I can be, a show of commitment and trying my hardest.”

Lillian confessed that married life was hard, as they have different lifestyles. But the two are on the same page when it comes to making their marriage work.

“I really do feel like it’s growing between us. We’re sharing more about each other as time passes, and learning more about each other creates deeper intimacy.”

The third couple of Season 4, Heather Seidel and Derek Schwartz, who abruptly ended their marriage after two weeks, made an appearance in the reunion special, but separately. Derek was open to talking to his ex-wife again, but an emotional Heather was not interested in that.

Married at First Sight will be returning with Season 5 in 2017. The filming has already started for the new season in Chicago.
