Randy Travis Performs ‘Amazing Grace’ At Hall Of Fame Induction, Surprising Fans [Video]

At one point, country music singer Randy Travis looked like he wouldn’t make it very much longer. Now it turns out that Randy is singing once again and the fans couldn’t be happier to see him on the stage. Fox News shared all about how Randy surprised his fans by singing Amazing Grace at the hall of fame induction. Everyone thought they might not hear Randy on the stage like this, but he is showing how great his recovery is going.

Just three years ago, Randy Travis suffered a life-threatening stroke and fans thought they had lost him forever. Now Randy is showing that all hope isn’t lost. He was inducted into the hall of fame along with fiddler Charlie Daniels and record producer Fred Foster. Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley and Garth Brooks were all there to help celebrate.

Randy Travis has been through years of treatment and even therapy on his voice. His wife Mary Davis-Travis got up on stage and spoke out about everything that Randy has been through over the years. Alan Jackson was there and performed the song On the Other Hand. He also spoke out about touring with Travis years ago saying, “When he sang, the women were screaming and fainting and it was crazy. I loved it. Someone singing real country music and having that effect and selling all those records, it just made me so happy.”

Washington Post shared a bit more about Randy Travis performing this weekend. Randy’s voice was described as “shaky and slightly garbled.” Randy didn’t just sing, but he also stood up from his wheelchair for the big performance. He let everyone see him on his feet doing what he is known best for by his fans. Of course, Randy Travis got a standing ovation. Davis-Travis told the Tennessean in March about Randy. Here is what he had to say.

“He lived and he loved the songs that he wrote and the songs that he sang. He’s a man of great courage. He’s kind. He’s gentle and he has God-given talents. He chose a career he was hoping he could make a difference in. That career made a difference in him.”

Fans are hopeful that they will get to see Randy Travis’ performance from the hall of fame induction. Good Morning America finally shared a video of Randy so the fans can see it.

A few months ago, the Inquisitr shared that Randy Travis had just done his first music video since the stroke. In this video, Travis wasn’t singing, but he was there, and fans loved getting to see him. This video was for Shane Owens, and he shared his thoughts on getting to have Travis in his video.

“The song ‘Country Never Goes Out of Style’ means so much to me. It really talks about the way I was raised and the way I live my life today … I think a lot of people live this song daily and can relate to it, especially if they were raised in the country with old-school ways.”

Hopefully, this is just the start of fans getting to see Randy Travis performing once again. It would be amazing if he would continue to perform and get back to his life in country music. Fans are happy either way just knowing that Randy is doing better.

It doesn’t look like Randy Travis will ever be touring again, but seeing that he can sing once again is great news for his fans.
