The Young and the Restless alum Michael Muhney tweeted a picture showing one side of his face wrapped in bandages after a minor surgical procedure to remove skin cancer, Soap Opera Digest reports.
Michael Muhney tweeted, “Wear your sunscreen kids. #noskincancer Had surgery today. Ten stitches. Yikes.”
Michael appeared nervous in the images, as the doctor prepared to remove part of his skin for a skin biopsy. After it was all said and done, Muhney was left with ten stitches and one heck of a bandage on his head. Even though the Young and the Restless alum is recovering from minor surgery, the rumors surrounding his alleged return to the CBS soap didn’t die down. Many viewers hope that he will come back to the role of Adam Newman now that Justin Hartley has left the role.
Right now, Adam Newman is presumed dead and the Young and the Restless writers have not hinted that they have found or cast anyone in the role, yet. Viewers keep holding on to the idea that the daytime drama may want to surprise the fans and not give anyone a heads up prior to airing his first episode. Even so, Muhney has only hinted at a possible return and refused to confirm if he was returning to the Young and the Restless.
Muhney fans believe that he will return to the series based on the fact that he hasn’t squashed the rumor, yet. Many Y&R fans hoped that when executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps was fired, and Mal Young replaced her, it would pave the way for fan-favorite, Michael Muhney to return to the role of Adam Newman.
Mal Young revealed his plans to restore the Young and the Restless by bringing the focus back to the core characters, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports. In June, Hunter King was dropped to a recurring status which fueled the rumors even more that the Young and the Restless writers were planning on bringing Muhney back to the show.
In 2014 after Michael Muhney’s departure from the Young and the Restless, TMZ reported that he inappropriately groped Hunter King and she complained that it made her “feel uncomfortable.” According to the unfounded rumor, the network had no other choice but to fire him. Immediately after the news broke, the Young and the Restless fans were divided about the claim. Did Michael Muhney touch Hunter King in an improper way?
Neither CBS, Michael, nor Hunter ever confirmed that he touched her or what led to his dismissal from the show. Muhney revealed that he was, at the point, that he was ready to walk away from the soap opera and never formerly addressed the Hunter King rumor. Michael Muhney has been teasing his followers that he has something big in the works. Most of his fans believe that it is a return to the Young and the Restless, even though he has not explicitly confirmed it.
