Watch Promo For ‘Saturday Night Live’ Premiere: Alec Baldwin Cast As Donald Trump For The Entire Season

Saturday Night Live has cast Alec Baldwin to play Donald Trump for the entire season. The season premiere will air on October 1 and feature another parody showdown between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Alec Baldwin is set to play Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will be played by familiar face, Kate McKinnon.

Baldwin will be making a seasonal guest appearance as Trump. The new promo for SNL that NBC released on Wednesday suggests the first head-to-head showdown will be a parody of the nominees’ recent presidential debate.

In the promo video, Alec Baldwin can be seen dressing the part, wearing a suit jacket with a pair of bushy white eyebrows.

Saturday Night Live cast member Kate McKinnon is also seen in the promo. Her Hillary Clinton impersonation has been put to good use during this election cycle.

In exactly one month, citizens will go out and cast their vote in the general election. Baldwin will then find out if he will carry on the rest of the SNL season playing a president or the loser of the 2016 election.

The arrangement will be similar to the casting of Larry David last season to play Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Donald Trump was previously parodied by SNL cast member Darrell Hammond. Hammond will remain with the series as its announcer and continue to appear on the show periodically.

SNL made headlines last year when Donald Trump hosted the show in November 2015. The show gained a lot of controversy and protests due to Trump’s comments about undocumented immigration from Mexico.
