Brad Pitt is reportedly hoping to save his marriage to Angelina Jolie.
Just over one week after the 41-year-old actress filed for divorce, sources claim Pitt is prepared to do whatever he can to make things right and keep his family intact — even if that means enlisting his father-in-law, actor Jon Voight, as a mediator.
“[Brad Pitt] has made an effort to make contact and is keen to try and improve the situation between them,” a source close to the situation told the Daily Mirror, via the Daily Mail. “He’s hoping his good relationship with Angelina’s family will help to build bridges. He’s spoken to her dad Jon and hopes he may be able to play peacemaker.”
Brad Pitt’s wife filed for divorce last Monday and requested full physical custody of their six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and Vivienne and Knox, 8. Still, Brad Pitt isn’t giving up on his marriage or his family and intends to work hard in the coming weeks.
“It’s a very tricky time for the family but [Brad Pitt] hasn’t given up hope yet,” the source explained.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie struck up a romance with one another 12 years ago as they filmed Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which was released in 2005. At the time, Pitt was still married to Friends actress Jennifer Aniston, but after Aniston filed for divorce in March of 2005, Pitt and Jolie wasted no time going public with their romance. Just months later, in January 2006, they confirmed they were expecting their first child together, daughter Shiloh, who arrived in May of that year.
According to another report, Brad Pitt is devastated about the potential end of his marriage to Jolie.
“[Brad Pitt] is beside himself and has been crying,” a source told Us Weekly. “He was completely caught off-guard and blindsided and had no idea she would do this. Angelina filed the court papers a minute before the courts closed on Monday night. He didn’t have a lawyer or anything. She had threatened divorce in the past but he did not think she would file this time.”
Now, Brad Pitt is hoping to save his marriage to Jolie just weeks after they celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary. As Us Weekly magazine revealed last month, Pitt and Jolie appeared to be keeping their romance alive just weeks before their marriage came to an abrupt end. At the time of the couple’s anniversary on August 23, they were said to have enjoyed a private night to themselves at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where they had dinner before retreating to their room for the evening.

As Brad Pitt attempts to salvage his marriage, a source claims his kids are requesting to see him.
“The kids are asking to see [Brad Pitt], so he is hoping to see them next week,” a source told Us Weekly on September 26.
A second source also spoke to the magazine and said that Brad Pitt was torn up and shattered, not only due to his split from Jolie but also because he’s been away from his six children.
While a reunion between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is possible, there doesn’t seem to be much of a chance for any such thing — especially after Jolie’s shocking allegations against her husband, which included alleged drug use, excessive drinking, and anger issues, and her request for full physical custody of their children.
