Zac Efron Says Dancing With Nicole Kidman In ‘The Paperboy’ Made Him A Man

It was not too long ago that Zac Efron was a sweaty teen dancing around a gymnasium for Disney’s High School Musical. Now, with the release of Zac’s first adult role in The Paperboy, it looks like he’s using his coveted dancing skills like never before as he seduces Nicole Kidman in the new Lee Daniels’ directed crime drama.

While promoting the film The Paperboy on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 24-year-old said that the experience with Nicole Kidman, which consists of a scene where the actress pees on him, was “amazing.”

On his experience with the Australian actress, Efron said, “Nicole is so amazing to work with. You never know what to expect. This was supposed to be a very serious scene. And before I knew it we were improvising an entire dance in the rain. It’s one of my favourite scenes in the movie. That is was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.” He continued, “It is the day I think I became a man.”

Of the dancing scene between Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron, director Lee Daniels set up the experience, telling The Huffington Post, “It was Nicole’s last day, and it started raining, and I thought it was beautiful. I started crying. God told me to play a song. It was a tearful moment for all of us. Then I was like, ‘Zac, your d–k print is showing, and your ass is showing, and this is the reason why people are going to say I did this on purpose.’ Did I? I don’t know.”

Although Zac Efron seems to be picking up beefy roles that might change the way people view him or at least the path of his career, Efron has said that he does want to get back to his musical roots, stating, “There’s a part of me that wishes I could go do it right now, but there’s also a part of me that knows I need to tackle other types of acting opportunities first. I want to be a well-rounded, versatile performer. Until I master other things, it would be hard for me to get back to musical theater.”

Do you think Zac Efron will transcend his heartthrob image?
