Did Jim Carrey Kill His Married Ex-Girlfriend With Illegal Drugs?

Jim Carrey has been sued for the wrongful death of his married ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White, by her living husband. The actor is being accused of illegally obtaining the prescription pills that killed White.

Radar Online obtained papers regarding the lawsuit between Jim Carrey and White’s estranged husband, Mark Burton. The lawsuit was filed Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

“This is a case about Defendant Jim Carrey using his immense wealth and celebrity status to illegally obtain and distribute highly addictive, and, in this case deadly controlled substances.”

The lawsuit was first reported by attorney Daniel Wallach.

News of the lawsuit came just hours after Jim Carrey was spotted acting erratically at an Emmys after-party this weekend. Shocking claims suggest that the actor was definitely under the influence of something.

According to Page Six, Carrey totally freaked out guests at Showtime’s Emmys party at Sunset Tower in L.A. on Saturday night.

Showtime network president David Nevins was giving a speech and toasting nominees Claire Danes, Maura Tierney, Jon Voight, and William H. Macy when “a bearded man in a leather jacket,” presumably Carrey, started screaming Nevins name while standing on a seat cushion and banging on a glass door with two fists.

David Nevins was quick to call out Carrey.

“Thanks for that, Jim.”

The lawsuit claims that Carrey illegally obtained prescription drugs under the false name “Arthur King” and then gave the drugs to his girlfriend at the time, Cathriona White.

According to the legal papers, Jim Carrey was well-aware that White was struggling with addiction and other issues.

“… (a) was ill equipped to ingest and manage highly additive [sic] prescription drugs outside the care of a licensed physician; (b) was prone to depression; and (c) had previously attempted to take her own life.”

Ms. White’s estranged husband is claiming that his wife’s death was both predictable and foreseeable.

Cathriona White died on September 24, 2015, from a drug overdose at the age of thirty. Her death came just days after news broke that she and Carrey had split up.

The death was ruled a tragic suicide, but now, Mark Burton wants Jim Carrey to be held responsible for her death.

Carrey carried Cathriona’s casket at her funeral in Cappawhite, County Tippery, Ireland, according to Radar Online.

Now, it is being reported that Carrey lied about paying for White’s funeral.

“Indeed, Carrey and his handlers made considerable efforts to publicize his supposed generosity as it related to the death of White. They did so … in an effort to paint Carrey as a ‘grieving good guy.'”

In reality, Carrey did not pay for any of the funeral costs.

At the time of her autopsy, White was found with Ambient, Propranolol, and Percocet in her system. All of the bottles holding the pills had the name “Arthur King” on them.

“…all came from there pill bottles found near her body bearing the name ‘Arthur King.’

“Carrey wrongfully and illegally obtained these drugs in clear violation of California law.”

Burton is demanding damages and a hurt trial.

White’s estranged husband also believes that Carrey worked to cover up his involvement with her death.

Carrey allegedly texted White’s phone after her death saying he either misplaced the drugs or that she may have taken them without his knowledge according to reports made by TMZ.

Burton is a Hollywood cameraman and a member of the Church of Scientology. The lawsuit states that Burton was living in Portland, Oregon, when White died.

His Twitter profile reads, “Film Producer, Raconteur; Father; Son; Husband; Humanist.”

Jim Carrey has not yet commented on the lawsuit that has been filed against him.
