‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 10 Spoilers: Penny And Leonard’s Wedding In Premiere, Sheldon And Amy Moving In? [PROMO]

The Big Bang Theory Season 10 premieres Monday, September 19, on CBS. According to the latest spoilers and official synopsis, Episode 1, “The Conjugal Conjecture,” will focus on the awkward morning after Sheldon’s father and Leonard’s mother spend the night together.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, The Big Bang Theory executive producer Steve Molaro revealed that the Season 10 premiere episode would pick up right where Season 9 left off. Ahead of Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard’s (Johnny Galecki) second wedding, it was teased that his dad (Judd Hirsch) may have slept with Sheldon’s mom (Laurie Metcalf), clearly something that Sheldon would not approve of.

Molaro said that Leonard and Sheldon are still “trying to sort their feelings out” about the whole thing, thinking that it could possibly change the dynamic of their friendship. Having an older brother himself, Sheldon may not be too keen to have a new addition to the Cooper family.

“He’s already got one brother in his life and he’s not a fan of him. He’s had the brother experience, although I don’t think Leonard is that kind of brother that would sit on his head or things like that,” Molaro explained.

Making The Big Bang Theory Season 10 premiere even more exciting, Penny’s mother (Katey Sagal) and her drug-addict brother (Jack McBrayer) will also be making their first appearance in time for the big day. Molaro said that Penny and her dad would find themselves in the middle of the mother and son’s constant bickering.

“As we know, her brother Randall has been a bit of trouble over the years, selling drugs and being in and out of jail, and that’s put a lot of stress on her mom, so I think the stress between her mother and her brother can make things a little tense,” Molaro added.

With Leonard and Penny taking their relationship to the next level, The Big Bang Theory fans are hoping that the same thing could happen to Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik). Without giving away too many spoilers, Molaro hinted that there are some “big experiments in store” for Sheldon and Amy. Some speculated that the two could eventually live together, when Leonard eventually moves in with Penny next door. While this could definitely be possible along the way, Molaro admitted that it would take a lot of adjusting on Sheldon’s part.

“It’s possible. But I’m stressing the word experiment and it’s something that would they even consider it? Well, usually it’s a good way to trick Sheldon into doing things is by framing it in terms of science.”

Molaro explained that they preferred the characters’ growth to be organic, adding that they typically do not plot out an entire year’s worth of storyline.

It keeps it exciting for us, because we never know exactly what’s going to happen until it does and it can even catch us off guard in the writer’s room, which I love,” he explained.

Meanwhile, when asked about the imminent cast contract negotiations this year, Molaro shared that the discussion seemed so far off at this point that they do not think of it as a concern. Instead, what they plan to do is make the best Season 10 possible and go from there. Majority of The Big Bang Theory cast members, however, seemed interested in reprising their respective roles.

During her appearance on his talk show, Jimmy Kimmel asked Kaley Cuoco if there is going to a Season 11 for The Big Bang Theory.

“That’s a very expensive question,” she said jokingly.

After a successful contract negotiation in 2014, Cuoco, Galecki, and Parsons all received $1 million per episode from Seasons 8 through 10.
