‘Big Brother 18’ Spoilers: Will ‘Nicorey’ Endure After ‘BB18’ Ends, Or Is Corey Using Nicole To Get Further In The Game?

According to the MacMillan Dictionary, a showmance is a relationship between two people involved in a “play, film, or television series,” especially when it crumbles after the particular production ends. Although some showmances develop into enduring relationships, a majority do not, which has led some fans to question the pairing of Nicole Franzel and Corey Brooks.

Big Brother 18 has been a season full of multiple showmances, with fans shipping couples like Zakiyah Everette and Paulie Calafiore or “Zaulie,” James Huling and Natalie Negrotti or “Jatalie,” and Nicole and Corey or “Nicorey.”

It appears that Zaulie has fallen apart since both parties were evicted, as depicted in several recent Big Brother 18 episodes, indicating the former couple is not on speaking terms in the jury house. While in the house, Zakiyah and Paulie had a contentious relationship, which became worse after Paulie failed to save Zakiyah from eviction after winning the Power of Veto (POV).

Jatalie, on the other hand, is much more of a flirtmance than a showmance. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, James recently told Natalie he loved her, and her reaction appeared to be embarrassment, after which she ordered James to “shut up.” That interaction, among others that have taken place in the house is a clear indication that James will likely be placed in the “friendzone” by Natalie once Big Brother 18 ends.

On its face, the third showmance, Nicorey, seems like it could have a real future, as Nicole and Corey have definite on-screen chemistry and have shared many an intimate night under the covers in the Big Brother 18 house. Nicole beams when she looks at Corey, and has expressed how perfect she thinks he is. Although Corey clearly has a fondness for Nicole, what he’s told other houseguests seems to indicate Nicorey may not endure beyond the end of the game.

It should be noted that this is not Nicole’s first experience with a Big Brother showmance, as the series veteran was romantically involved during Season 16 with fellow houseguest Hayden Voss. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, she recently revealed to Corey that she and Hayden dated for quite some time and only broke up earlier this year when she discovered Hayden did not want to get married or have children.

As reported by the Inquisitr almost two months ago, Corey first revealed his feelings regarding Nicole to now evicted cast member Tiffany Rousso, who brought up the showmance subject during a conversation. Tiffany hinted to Corey that he and Nicole were a cute couple, but he proclaimed he simply likes to cuddle and nothing more.

Corey also hinted he may have gotten close to Nicole to further his game, as he revealed to Tiffany that Nicole is “playing her game” and he’s playing his. He added that he was fine with the two going their separate ways after Big Brother 18 comes to an end, but noted he thought Nicole was “cute.”

He clarified his stance to Tifffany by saying he recently ended a long-term relationship and is not looking to get seriously involved with anyone anytime soon. Nevertheless, he reassured Tiffany that he’s not totally ruling out anything regarding Nicole.

Just days ago, however, Corey had a heart-to-heart talk with Victor Arroyo as the two relaxed in the Big Brother 18 hot tub. They discussed the upcoming BB18 wrap party that will occur when the season ends, and Corey made it clear he will keep in contact with Nicole, but nothing more.

According to Big Brother Network, on August 30, Corey told Victor, “I’m not going to come out of this place in a relationship… I’m sorry. We can talk. I’ll tell people, ‘Yeah, me and Nicole are cool,’ but it’s not going to be anything like with Hayden.”

Corey continued with, “I think that she [Nicole] thinks it has to better than her and Hayden as soon as we get out of here, and I’m like ‘No, no, no, no, no’,” Big Brother Network reports. As Victor listened, Corey also said he will remain lifelong friends with Nicole, but referred to her relationship with Hayden as a casualty of Big Brother, adding, “…look how that ended. You don’t want to make that same mistake twice.”

He told Victor he thinks “so many cool guys” will be hitting on Nicole, but even after his diatribe about simply being friends, according to Big Brother Network, he did not rule out a possible romance with her, noting, “…if it works, it works, it if doesn’t, it doesn’t.”

From Corey’s several admissions, he clearly knows he is in a good position in the Big Brother 18 house being paired with Nicole in Nicorey, which has no doubt helped advance his game. Overall, however, it appears Corey is on the fence about a relationship with Nicole outside the game, but seems to truly have feelings for her, although they don’t appear to be as strong as those she has for him.
