Lilly Pulitzer Sale: Nearly 90,000 People Hit After Party Sale, But No Promo Codes Allowed

The Lilly Pulitzer sale has caused quite a bit of buzz online, with Google Trends reporting more than 100,000 searches coming to their search engine on Monday, August 22, for the Lilly Pulitzer sale.

As reported by Racked, nearly 90,000 people waited in the virtual line on the retailer’s website in order to get their hands on some Lilly Pulitzer items. It was a popular sale that had social media buzzing, but not everyone fell for the Pulitzer sale.

As reported by Market Watch, the Lilly Pulitzer sale tempted many shoppers to pull out their credit cards and splurge on dresses and other clothing for a fraction of the price — even if the prices were still relatively high for some items. However, the economist who wrote the Market Watch article encouraged at least one person to save her pennies instead of going on a shopping binge.

Others indulged in the sale as the #AfterPartySale hashtag proves.

As reported by the Inquisitr, last year’s Lilly Pulitzer for Target sale also caused lots of hubbub and resulted in Pulitzer items being listed on eBay for as much as $3,000 in the wake of the Pulitzer stuff selling out on Target’s website.

The Lilly Pulitzer retailer notes that their online and in-store sale lasts from August 22 to August 23. They warn Lilly Pulitzer customers to prepare for long lines.

“If you are shopping on the morning of the After Party Sale, you may be placed into a virtual waiting line before entering the website. Once you enter the site you will have ONE TIME to check out before you are directed back to the virtual waiting line.”

“The After Party Sale begins at 8AM ET on Monday, August 22 2016 and ends at 11:59PM ET on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Lilly Pulitzer owned retail stores also participate in the After Party Sale.”

Those hoping to use promotional codes to get additional money off their Lilly Pulitzer items were warned by the retailer that promo codes would not be allowed for the After Party Sale items. They were also warned that merchandise bought during the sale could not be returned.

“I have a promo code – can I use this on my After Party Sale purchase? No, all promo codes are invalid during the After Party Sale.”

“What’s your return policy on After Party Sale items? All After Party Sale items are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange. Read the full return policy here.

Those indulging in the Lilly Pulitzer sale would find items like their Captain Printed Popover marked down from $98 to $59, with limited sizes still available as of this writing. Other sale items have also had their prices slashed, like the Lilly Pulitzer Sloan V-Neck Maxi Dress that has been marked down from $198 to $109 in the sale, but they only had the XXS, XS, and small sizes available.

On the company’s Twitter page, they note that they’ve added 100 styles to the sale.

“OH YES WE DID. 100 styles were JUST added to the #AfterPartySale.”

Meanwhile, the Lilly Pulitzer Facebook page collected some complaints from people commenting about the long wait times they have experienced. Either way, the retailer that focuses on fun and happy prints with bright colors and products is urging people to use the #Resort365 hashtag on Instagram and other social networking sites to show off their Pulitzer hauls.
