‘WWE 2K17’ Roster Update Adds Legends, NXT Stars To Stacked Lineup

The WWE and 2K Sports had a huge WWE 2K17 roster update announcement that rolled out through the day. By the end, there were 36 new names added to the growing roster, and these included women, legends, NXT stars, and some pretty humorous jokes. It all started with a hilarious Twitter post concerning the women’s talent coming to the new game.

It was the first announcement that said four “legendary women” were joining the ranks of the WWE 2K17 roster. Those women were Trish Stratus, Lita, Alundra Blaze, and Eva Marie. Of course, the joke is that three of those women are true legends and former women’s champions and the other is Eva Marie, one of the most maligned women’s superstars on the entire WWE roster.

The next two announcements were basic, although one was a little surprising. First of all, they announced that fans could continue the feud between Neville and Stardust, a smaller feud that ended thanks to Cody Rhodes leaving the WWE. The other WWE 2K17 roster update was that the Dudley Boyz will both appear in the new game.

Up next was an announcement regarding NXT. This one said that former NXT women alumni were going to be playable in the new game. These women included Charlotte’s lackey Dana Brooke, the exciting Becky Lynch, Summer Rae, and Emma, who really started to shine when she turned heel.

The next announcement was a huge one for old-school WWE fans. While it was known that Goldberg was making his debut as a pre-order character for the WWE 2K17 roster, four more legends were announced. They included Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig, Ravishing Rick Rude, Macho Man Randy Savage, and The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith.

The next WWE 2K17 roster update provided another tongue-in-cheek joke. This one said that four of the greatest wrestlers of all time were joining the game: one from WCW, one from the WWE, one from New Japan, and one from NXT. Three of them were bonafide legends in Sting, Shawn Michaels, and Tatsumi Fujinami. However, representing NXT was Bo Dallas.

After those WWE 2K17 roster update announcements, the press release just started to list off wrestlers joining the game. The new names added to the roster are AJ Styles, Alexa Bliss, Arn Anderson, Bam Bam Bigelow, The Bushwackers, Christian, Curtis Axel, Dolph Ziggler, Fandango, Kofi Kingtson, Naomi, Natalya, Rikishi, Tamina, Tyler Breeze, and Xavier Woods.
