Army Wives Renewed For 7th Season
Army Wives will film a 7th season after being renewed by the Lifetime channel on Friday.
The Kim Delaney drama will air at least 13 more episodes under its current contract with no word on a further extension at this time.
Lifetime executive vp programming Rob Sharenow said Friday:
“Army Wives is a very special program. It’s rare to find a series that connects with viewers and resonates so powerfully after six straight seasons, and we couldn’t be prouder to have it return to Lifetime next year.”
Army Wives just ended its sixth season with a series average of 3.2 million viewers. The show ranked as the No. 1 ad-support show in its season 6 premiere time period among women 18 and up.
Army Wives stars Sally Pressman, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller, Terry Serpico, Kelli Williams and Catherine Bell. As the name suggests the drama follows the lives of a group of Army Wives who deal with life on an active Army post.
Army Wives is based on the book Army Wives: The Unwritten Code of Military Marriage by Tanya Biank. The books author also holds a consulting role on the show.
