Anna And Jana Duggar Snubbed: Neither Appears In ‘Counting On’ Season 2 Description And Promo

Jana Duggar And Anna Duggar Missing From Counting On Promo

Jana Duggar and her sister-in-law, Anna Duggar, both had big roles on the first season of Jill & Jessa: Counting On. However, neither woman made an appearance in the promo for the second season of the TLC reality series, which now bears the shortened title Counting On. Anna and Jana were not mentioned at all in the official description of Counting On Season 2.

TLC recently shared its first look at Season 2 of Counting On, which premieres August 23 at 8 p.m. ET, and the main focus of the video teaser is Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s courtship. However, Jessa Duggar and Jill Duggar’s plans to expand their families are also explored. Jessa brings up the topic of adoption again, and Jill’s husband, Derick Dillard, tells his wife that he wants to try to have another baby before next year (for this to happen, Jill would already have to be pregnant).

What the promo below does not show is an update on Jana Duggar or Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna.

TLC has listed the top five topics that Season 2 of Counting On will focus on, and none of them involve Anna or Jana Duggar. The topics include Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s courtship; Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s visit home after spending over a year living as missionaries in El Salvador; Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald’s plans to adopt; an update on the relationship status of the adult Duggar boys, and the homeschool graduations of Joy Anna, Jedidiah, and Jeremiah.

Anna Duggar was a fixture on the first season of Counting On. As Us Weekly reports, she talked about her husband’s cheating scandal, and she was shown preparing to visit the Christian treatment facility Josh Duggar checked into after he claimed that he was addicted to internet pornography.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Anna treated Josh like “a hero returning from war” when he came back home to Arkansas after six months away from his wife and four kids. However, the TLC cameras probably weren’t around to film the couple’s reunion. According to People, it’s “absolutely untrue” that Josh will appear on the upcoming season of Counting On. Now that Josh is home, it would be awkward for TLC to shun him while featuring Anna Duggar on the show, so perhaps Anna also won’t get any screen time during Season 2.

Jana Duggar also doesn’t appear in the promo above, but there’s probably a different reason for her absence, and that is because she simply doesn’t have as much going on in her life as her sisters. Jill and Jessa can tease Counting On fans with the possibility of pregnancies and adoptions, and Jinger Duggar has a wedding to plan. Joy Anna also doesn’t appear in the first look at Season 2 of Counting On, but at least her graduation from the “Duggar Academy” is mentioned in the description of what fans can look forward to watching.

During the first season of Counting On, Jana Duggar was shown helping her older brothers change a lighting fixture in Jessa Duggar’s house, and she supervised while they built a tree fort for their younger siblings. Many fans of the Duggar family want to see the oldest Duggar daughter leave home to start a life of her own, but they fear that that poor Jana will be stuck at home taking care of her younger siblings until they’re all grown. As the International Business Times reports, 26-year-old Jana Duggar is still single, and Duggar daughters aren’t allowed to move out until they get married.

As Entertainment Tonight reports, Jana has said that she’s waiting to find a hard-working guy with “dirt under the nails.” However, she’s so ready to go on dates and move out of her parents’ house that sometimes she’s tempted to begin a courtship with anyone who asks her father for permission to pursue a relationship with her.

“I’m not just out to get married to the first [suitor] that comes along. I mean, sometimes it can be tempting. It’s like, ‘Oh I really want to be married.’ [Especially] in those moments where your siblings, who are married and have little ones, are going out on dates and doing their things,” Jana said.

Sister time! 🙂

Jana Duggar has earned the nickname “Cinderella Duggar” because she’s spent most of her life working as a live-in nanny and maid for her parents. However, she recently revealed that Anna Duggar is the family’s new Cinderella. Josh Duggar’s wife has been busy taking care of her in-laws’ kids, cleaning their bathrooms, and doing their laundry. Perhaps this will give Jana more time to find a suitable partner that will help her score more screen time on Counting On.
