Joe Simpson, Father Of Jessica Simpson Fighting DUI Charges

It was only a matter of time before we heard from Joe Simpson after his infamous arrest for drinking behind the wheel. Now it’s said that Joe Simpson will fight the DUI charges that claims he was drunk while driving around in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Simpson, father to singers Ashlee and Jessica Simpson pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence in an LA courtroom on Thursday. Currently he’s being charged with two counts of driving under the influence. If Joe Simpson is convicted of the charges, Simpson could face up to 6 months in jail, in addition to a hefty $1,000 fine, and thirty-six months of probation.

On the night of August 4, Joe Simpson was stopped at 10 pm on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, and apparently spent the night in jail after he was arrested. Not to be shaken up by the incident, Simpson stood in court and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to sources, it’s said that Joe Simpson only had “a couple of glasses of wine at dinner with his wife” and was so confident about his sobriety that he took a voluntary breathalyzer test.

This isn’t the only controversy that Joe Simpson has been embroiled in. Years ago in 2004, the father of Jessica Simpson infamously made comments about Jessica Simpson’s breasts. At the time Simpson said, ‘She’s got double Ds! You can’t cover those suckers up!’
