While it appears Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are mum about the secretive wedding that went down in South Carolina, that hasn’t stopped Lively’s brother from speaking about the event. The wedding, which took place on Sunday night in Charleston, S.C. was said to be “spectacular” according to Lively’s older brother.
Lively’s older brother Jason, 44, said of the hush-hush wedding, “I traveled all around the country and rented cars from out of state to keep it under wraps. I think they did a good job. It was spectacular.” Since the wedding was confirmed by the actors reps, more details have trickled out about the ceremony, including performer Florence + The Machine, and Bette Midler, guests, and details about the fashionable choices.
According to a rep from a designing firm, Lively walked down the aisle in a Marchesa bridal ballgown, which was designed by her friends Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig. The dress is said to be a hand-draped silk tulle bodice dressed in custom crystals and rose gold embroidery.
As for the reception, who better to design the wedding but Martha Stewart? A rep from Stewart’s wedding site described the tone of the intimate ceremony stating, “Ryan and Blake opted for an intimate, personalized party, gathering their immediate and extended family at a rustic barn in South Carolina. Ryan, who has been a long-time fan of Charleston, chose to mark this special occasion in one of his favorite towns.” The location also has a bit of history itself as it was the shooting location for the romantic film The Notebook.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds met on the set of their 2011 action dud Green Lantern , and have been dating for nearly a year before the pair decided to tie the knot. This is Lively’s first marriage, while Reynolds’ takes a second swing at it. His first marriage was to actress Scarlett Johansson in 2008.
