‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Major Casting Shakeup In The Works, Steve Burton And Justin Hartley To Exit The CBS Soap Opera?

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease a behind-the-scenes shakeup may be in the works. Last week, CBS shocked fans when they announced that Jill Farren Phelps, the former executive producer of Y&R, was out. Even though many fans wanted Phelps to lose her job, it was still a shock when it came out.

Jill’s ousting brought the speculation that there could be a behind-the-scenes shake up in the works, Soap Opera Digest reports. Michael E. Knight was the first causality of the regime change. His role, Dr. Simon Neville, was supposed to be a small part, but he did so well they tried to work it into a permanent role. He appeared on the CBS soap opera from October, 2015, through June. The Young and the Restless claimed that Knight was let go just before Phelps was let go, but many Y&R fans don’t believe it.

There is some speculation that all the actors that Phelps brought to the show in her four-year stint as the executive producer may be at risk to lose their contracts. Actors like Steve Burton (Dylan McAvoy) could find himself in the hot seat. The new showrunner, Mal Young, may not be as willing to work with his relaxed filming schedule. The question is if Burton does leave the Young and the Restless, would the soap opera recast the role?

The Young and the Restless announced that Hunter King (Summer Newman) and Robert Adamson (Noah) were bumped to recurring status, both actors were brought to CBS by Jill Farren Phelps. It led to the Y&R fans jumping to the conclusion that more changes could be in the works, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports.

Justin Hartley (Adam Newman) has begun filming the NBC drama, This Is Us. Many fans believe that he cannot dedicate 100 percent of his time and energy to both shows, leading to the speculation that he could be leaving the Young and the Restless.

Right now, Hartley has stated that he has no plans of leaving the Young and the Restless, but many viewers feel he may be waiting to see how well his new NBC prime time show does during the first season.

Over the past few years, there have been many talented actors that left the show because of the Jill Farren Phelps regime. She played favorites and had a habit of ousting talented actors. Two actors that many Young and the Restless fans hope return are Jessica Collins (Avery) and Michael Muhney (Former Adam Newman).

The Young and the Restless fans wondered if Justin Hartley exits the role of Adam Newman, would the show ask Michael Muhney to return? And, if so, how would they explain the plastic surgery storyline?

If Phelps is out, could that mean head scribe Chuck Pratt, Jr. could be on his last leg too? Many Y&R fans have called for Pratt’s firing for almost two years now. With his good pal Phelps out of a job, the viewers are hoping he will be following her in a few months. The Young and the Restless rumors state that Chuck’s contract ends in January.

The Young and the Restless fans, do you think Chuck Pratt will be fired soon? Are you surprised by Jill Farren Phelps ousting? What kind of casting changes do you think are in the works on the CBS soap opera?

One thing is for sure, Jill Farren Phelps’ firing shocked the fans and they are hoping her exit could mean the network is planning to revamp the CBS soap opera.
