‘Destiny’ Weekly Reset For June 21, Iron Banner Canceled This Week

The various Destiny activities and challenges were reset once again Tuesday, June 21. Unfortunately, this also comes with news that PlayStation and Xbox players will not have an Iron Banner event to enjoy this week.

Bungie announced Monday evening the cancellation of the Iron Banner event scheduled for this week. The multiplayer event was shelved after various issues with Destiny put a stop to this past weekend’s Trials of Osiris on Saturday. Those issues have not been resolved yet and would seriously impact the enjoyment of Iron Banner.

There’s no word on if Iron Banner could return next Tuesday, June 28 or if players will have to wait until the end of July for the next. Bungie will make sure there’s a fix in place before making an announcement.

Destiny upped the fun factor in all activities this week with the cancellation of Iron Banner. Random modifiers were added to Heroic Strikes in the latest patch, and the modifiers for Nightfall and Challenge of Elders are enjoyable as well. On the multiplayer side, Mayhem Rumble is featured.

• Catapult — Grenade recharge rate is greatly increased.

• Heavy Hitter — Use a Heavy weapon to kill enemies in Level 41 Prison of Elders or Challenge of the Elders.
• Shadow Boxer — Use Void abilities to kill enemies in Level 41 Prison of Elders or Challenge of the Elders.

King’s Fall Raid Challenge Mode — Oryx (Guide)

The Destiny King’s Fall Raid challenge caps off this week with special conditions to beat Oryx. The Challenge mode condition is that players must detonate 16 Blight bombs at the same time to bring Oryx’s health down from full to almost zero.

The rewards for Normal Mode are a guaranteed 310 Helmet or Primary Weapon, 310 Artifact, and a Calcified Fragment. The Hard mode loot is the same as normal, plus a 320 Helmet or Primary Weapon, a 320 Artifact, Emblem, and a new Ship.

Nightfall — Blighted Chalice

Ocean of Storms, Moon: A blight of Taken now roosts in the Hellmouth. Unchecked, they could refocus the Darkness within and descend on the City.

Modifiers

• Epic — Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers.
• Berserk — Minions of the Darkness won’t flinch, even after massive damage.
• Small Arms — Primary Weapon damage is favored.
• Chaff — Player radar is disabled.
• Airborne — Players deal more damage while in the air.

Weekly Heroic Strikes

Modifiers

• Arc Burn — Arc Damage from any source is greatly increased.
• Exposure — Guardian shields are increased but do not replenish.
• Catapult — Grenade recharge rate is greatly increased

Court of Oryx (Guide)

Tier 3: Thalnok, Fanatic of Crota

This mini-Crota boss plays similar to the final Dark Below Raid encounter in Destiny, with a couple of twists. It will require teamwork, as well. Like Crota, the only way to kill Thalnok is to bring his shields down to force him to kneel while a player whacks him with a sword dropped by a Knight.
