Brazil striker Jonas said Sunday’s friendly match against Panama will be important for Selecao’s preparations for the Copa America, Goal.com reported. He said the match will be a good chance for the new roster to come together, as they have had quite a bit of shuffling due to injury. Jonas himself was a late addition to the team after Ricardo Oliveira was injured.

“We always want to have the best, but this is the opportunity for the players to take advantage,” he told www.aredacao.com (via ESPNFC). “We are looking for more leaders. There will always be pressure but among us (the coaching staff and players) we can deal with it.”

Panama may have even more to gain from Sunday’s friendly match against Brazil. They are preparing for a difficult pool in the Copa America, facing Chile, Bolivia, and 14-time winner Argentina. Brazil will be facing Ecuador, Haiti, and Peru.
Panama already had one warm-up match, a 0-0 draw against Venezuela. It will not get much easier for Panama, as striker Ismael Diaz will be lost for the entire tournament with a knee injury.
