Stevie J Ordered To Trial Over $1.1 Million In Child Support, ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ Star Responds

Stevie J wasn’t able to settle lingering child support case out of court. Now the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star has been ordered to trial in order to settle the matter after he was accused of owing $1.1 million in back child support.

According to Bossip, Stevie J owes more than $1 million in child support for just two of his children. Stevie had been ordered to pay $8,557 a month for the care of his now 19-year old son and 17-year old daughter. As of 2014, the report claims that Stevie J owed $1,107,412 in unpaid child support and still hasn’t been able to settle his debt or pay up.

The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star was hoping for a much different outcome on the child support case. Stevie J had initially applied for a deferred prosecution but was denied the request and ordered to trial instead. The trial to determine what happens to Stevie next as far as paying back or serving time for the unpaid support has been set for December.

According to the New York Daily News, Stevie J already spoke out about the child support charges against him. The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star told reporters as he exited an NYC court that the case was “b******t.” Stevie already pleaded not guilty when the child support case first hit the news back in February 2015. Stevie currently pulls $27,000 per episode on LHHATL and is rumored to be having some serious financial issues. There’s no way Stevie can come up with more than $1 million in child support to pay back what he is accused of owing.

With this latest news of Stevie J’s child support trial, some of the biggest Love & Hip Hop Atlanta stars are dropping like flies. If Stevie ends up doing jail time for the unpaid child support, the VH1 hit reality show will lose one of their most popular stars.

News of Stevie J’s upcoming December trial came the same day that another LHHATL star got arrested. Stevie’s friend, Karen “KK” King was arrested and charged with identity fraud and forgery in connection with a Saks Fifth Avenue scheme she was allegedly running with two of the high-end retailer’s employees. If convicted, King will be facing at least one year behind bars and possibly a maximum sentence of 30 years.

Meanwhile, Scrapp DeLeon made his Love & Hip Hop Atlanta debut in Season 5 and he’s already serving time. Scrapp was sentenced to five years in jail and another 15 years on probation in a marijuana trafficking case that he was hit with before he was ever even cast on the reality show.

As for Stevie J’s child support case, he seems to believe it will all get thrown out once the facts are shared. Stevie contends that he has done everything he needed to do to take care of his children. “I take great care of my kids,” he said after leaving the courthouse. “I love my children.”

As far as filming his child support troubles for Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Stevie J made it sound like he’s open to the idea. “It’s part of my life, ” Stevie said. “So it’s gonna fit in, you know, where it fits in.” Don’t be surprised if this child support trial becomes Stevie J’s new storyline now that he’s split from Joseline Hernandez and crashing at Mimi Faust’s house.
