Woman Told Her Breasts Too Big For Her Tank Top By Health Club

Rose Nickels (or Jenna Vecchio) has a viral Facebook post on her hands. Although the Movati Athletic Club’s tagline encourages their health club members to feel welcome, feel healthy, and feel comfortable, Rose wrote that she felt anything but those three things recently. As reported by AOL, Jenna’s name on Facebook is Rose Nickels.

Nickels added eight new photos to her Facebook page on May 14 that document the black tank top and gray pants Rose said she was wearing when she visited the Movati Athletic Club.

“I am a member of Movati Athletic Club in Orleans, ON. Today, I was instructed by a supervisor at the club that my tank top was inappropriate dress and is offensive to both the staff and other members. That at Movati they have a dress code stating only appropriate gym attire and modest clothing is to be worn. I will start by saying my tank top was no different than many other women’s tank top at the club; except my chest size is much larger in appearance in comparison to my frame than many of the other women.”

Nickels went on to write that she took the unusual step of asking as many women in the Movati Athletic Club as she could if her tank top offended them. Rose said that the Movati Athletic Club female members she asked for an opinion about her tank top told her that they were not offended by the tank top. As a result, Nickels wrote that she surmised that only two female supervisors working at the club that day were the ones really offended by her attire.

Rose wrote that she told the health club workers that her tank top was no different than another other woman’s tank top in the place, but that she was told that because of her large chest size, she couldn’t wear a tank top.

“They informed me that it did not matter — that due to my chest size I could not wear a tank top. I felt humiliated and discriminated against due to my figure. I was singled out and it is unfair to say I cannot wear a tank top and other women can! Different figures means different rules? I would like to bring this out to the public! If tank tops are not allowed at the gym for me because of my chest size [then] all women should not be allowed to wear tank tops regardless of size.”

Meanwhile, as reported by the Telegraph, Movati Athletic Club has responded to the melee, writing that “some members” of the gym did complain about the tank top Vecchio was wearing, saying that it made them uncomfortable.

Rose, however, wrote that the Movati Athletic Club practiced discrimination against her and that just because she has large breasts doesn’t mean that she should have to follow different rules.

The Movati Athletic Facebook page is getting an earful of comments, with many folks writing about what they feel was a discriminatory act against Rose. With the photos provided, it does appear that Jenna has large breasts in comparison to her smaller frame as Rose noted in her viral Facebook post. However, most folks agree that Rose should not have been targeted and told she could not wear tank tops to the health club.

Rose also added photos from the Movati Athletic website that shows other women sporting tank tops as they exercised. The controversy is reminiscent of the outfits deemed inappropriate for Planet Fitness, as reported by Yahoo News. Several females have reported being kicked out of Planet Fitness facilities because of what they deem was discrimination.
