Superman Is Single: Henry Cavill Has Split Up With His 19-Year-Old Girlfriend Tara King

Superman (Henry Cavill) is flying solo after his recent split from Tara King, his 19-year-old girlfriend. Us Weekly has confirmed the breakup from multiple sources.

Us Weekly went on to report that Henry Cavill and his girlfriend ended the relationship on good terms. The two were at different places in their lives and decided they were not right for each other. The two, however, still want to be friends.

“She was in too deep and he didn’t want anything too serious. He has a lot going on right now. They’ll remain good friends, but it just wasn’t meant to be. No fight, just not meant to be.”

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor originally made his red carpet debut with his lovely 19-year-old girlfriend back in February during a Vanity Fair Oscar party. Earlier in February of that year, but before the red carpet debut, Cavill opened up about himself and his relationship with King during an interview with Elle Magazine.

During the interview with Elle Magazine, a lot of emphasis was placed on the age difference between Henry Cavill and his 19-year-old girlfriend. Cavill was asked what he talks about with his much younger girlfriend.

“Everything. People say, age is just a number. A lot of times it’s not just a number. It’s actually a real and true sign of someone’s maturity. But in this case, she’s fantastic.”

Henry Cavill went on to reveal that when he was 19-years-old, he dated a 32-year-old. For this reason, Cavill understood that the natural reaction to him being with someone so young was not necessarily a positive one, but he does not see the age difference as a big deal.

“It’s a natural reaction. But when I was 19, I was going out with a 32-year-old.”

Despite the break-up between Henry Cavill and Tara King being confirmed, the two are still being seen and photographed spending time together. This is why some sources are questioning whether or not the break-up is a rumor. In fact, the two were photographed together participating in the Durrell Challenge Charity Run that took place in Jersey, Channel Islands on May 15.

Henry Cavill’s dating history includes dating Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory back in July of 2013. Cavill also had an on again, off again relationship with actress Gina Carano that ended in December 2014.

Daily Mail, on the other hand, has reported that the break-up may not have been as mutual as Us Weekly has reported.

“It has been very difficult for Tara, who has been saying he was the love of her life.”

Daily Mail goes on to report that the break-up came as somewhat of a shock, as Henry Cavill had just recently been bragging about how great a girlfriend King had been and how she was always there for him when he needed someone.

Henry Cavill and Tara King first met last year at Mahiki, a nightclub in London. It was in October of last year that the two were officially outed as a couple. A lot of people criticized Henry for dating a girl so much younger than himself. Cavill and King set out to win over the skeptics with a number of loving displays in public. Cavill and his young girlfriend were seen joined at the hip at a number of red carpet outings and on a series of romantic holidays.
