‘The Young And The Restless’ Star Jensen Buchanan Arrested For DUI, Swerved Into Traffic Resulting In A Horrifying Car Crash, Driver Listed In Serious Condition

Soap opera legend Jensen Buchanan has been arrested for an alleged DUI crash that left the other driver with serious injuries, CBS Local reported. Buchanan recently appeared on The Young and the Restless as Judge Eloise Moxley and played a pivotal role in releasing iconic character Adam Newman from prison.

On Wednesday morning, Jensen was reportedly driving her 2016 Mercedes on State Route 154 near Santa Barbara, California, Soap Opera Spy reports. Officials claim that her car drifted across the double line and slammed into a white 2014 Ford C-Max driven by a man named Bradley Asolas. Buchanan and Asolas were immediately taken to Cottage Hospital to treat their injuries.

Jensen’s injuries sustained from the car accident were minor. The hospital claims that Asolas suffered serious injuries, but they didn’t elaborate any further about his condition.

“It is confirmed Jensen Buchanan as the driver of a black Mercedes. Jensen Buchanan was arrested for DUI — she had minor injuries and went to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. As far as law enforcement is aware, she is still there. The other party had major injuries and was also taken to Cottage Hospital — there is no update on his condition.”

Once Buchanan was released from the hospital several hours after the crash, the police arrested Jensen for a suspected DUI. Neither Jensen nor her representative has commented on the arrest or accident.

Buchanan is an accomplished actor on daytime TV and in film. She Knows Soaps reported she has appeared on One Life to Live as Sarah Buchanan, Another World as twins Vicky and Marley Hudson, As the World Turns as Vicky McKimon, General Hospital as Melissa Bedford, and The Young and the Restless as Eloise Moxley. Jensen recently wrapped up filming the movie Wrath.

Jensen was cast on The Young and the Restless in November of 2015 as Judge Moxley. At the time, it was announced that she would appear as the judge who handles Adam Newman’s case. He was being charged with running over Billy Abbott’s daughter, Cordelia Abbott, which ultimately claimed her life two years ago. After hearing all the evidence, she decided to convict Adam and sentenced him to prison. Later, his case was appealed, and she reduced his time and released him from prison after being blackmailed by Nikki Newman.

Young and the Restless fans expected the judge to return to the CBS soap opera for a few months. It seemed like she would be a great fit on the show and had great promise for her character, but she hasn’t appeared very consistently. Of course, it could be the actress’ choice not to get involved with a length storyline, because Jensen told Soap Opera Digest a few months ago that she considered herself retired when she was asked to appear on The Young and the Restless. While Buchanan enjoys working, she made it clear she also needs free time for her family and other projects.

Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Jensen was booked on driving under the influence resulting in injury or death and driving under the influence with an alcohol level of 0.08, E! Online reports. Buchanan is being held on a $100,000 bond. So far, Jensen Buchanan has not commented on her arrest or DUI. Her publicist has not made an official comment about the incident either.
