A massive sex scandal is rocking the Oakland Police Department and it all revolves around a young woman named Celeste Guap. According to CBS News, several Oakland police officers have been accused of being sexually involved with the same girl during a time when she was legally underage.
It has been reported that Celeste Guap, now 19, began having sex with Oakland police officers at the age of 16. More than a dozen officers are now at the center of an internal affairs investigation for their involvement with Guap. The investigation stems from questionable Facebook posts where Celeste began revealing details about her sexual acts with several Oakland officers. In the series of Facebook posts, she reportedly shed light on the affairs, claiming they were harmless despite her age.Although the sexual acts were illegal, Celeste claims she refused to "snitch" on any of the officers she was sexually involved with. In one of the Facebook posts, Celeste made a subliminal reference to former Oakland officer Brendan O'Brien. According to KPIX5, the 30-year-old committed suicide in September of 2015. Celeste claims he is the only Oakland police officer who she had sex with while she was underage. "The only officer I ever messed with underage is sadly gone now, so I don't know why this is still being brought up," she reportedly wrote on Facebook.
O'Brien reportedly left a suicide note that may have led to the investigation, but inside sources claim "sexual misconduct had been ongoing since 2014," according to the Daily Mail. However, investigators may not have conducted a thorough investigation to uncover the scandal, which led to the suspension of the investigation. But, now another investigation has been launched, and this time the truth has been revealed.
Initially, many of the Oakland officers lied about having sex with Celeste, but later admitted they had been involved with her while she was underage. As a result of the current investigation, there are three officers involved and one is already facing criminal charges for statutory rape. An Oakland police spokesperson has released a statement about the ongoing investigation. "We are entrusted by the community to protect it, to serve them and to uphold the law," she told KPIX. "So we take the allegations very seriously."
But, despite the investigation, Celeste is still sharing Facebook posts about her encounters. Back in April, Celeste took to Facebook with yet another suggestive post that only adds fuel to the fire. She shared a photo of an Oakland police patrol car outside a convenience store in Richmond California. The caption for the photo read, "Took me back to Richmond in style," which raises speculation about an encounter with an unnamed police officer. It is still unclear whether the Facebook post relates to one of the three officers involved in the current investigation.
Weeks prior to the recent post, she shared a Facebook memory that also suggested she'd been involved with a police officer. "Calls me his Mrs Undercover… that's cuz we always undercover."
Although three officers are at the center of the current investigation, there's a strong possibility others will also be included in the near future. The internal investigation will be ongoing.
