It’s been almost two years since Beyonce and Jay Z sparked divorce rumors, but the two remained together despite the allegations. However, the 34-year-old singer may have finally found a way to speak up about her husband’s affair through her new album Lemonade.
There were reports that the 46-year-old rapper cheated on his wife with fashion designer Rachel Roy. According to Hollywood Life, the songstress may have named the 42-year-old California local referred to as “Becky with the good hair” in her latest single “Sorry.”
“Rachel is so upset that she was called out and had to make her Instagram private from all the backlash,” an insider said. “Becky is totally a reference to her, that’s what Beyoncé refers to her as and she is furious Beyoncé would do this.”
Apart from allegedly exposing Jay Z’s affair with Rachel Roy in “Sorry,” Beyonce’s other songs in her latest album Lemonade talked about infidelity and cheating which could probably relate to what she’s gone through and going through in her life right now. Below are some lines from her songs.
“You can taste the dishonesty/It’s on your breath as you pass it off so cavalier.” – from “Pray You Catch Me”
“I smell your secrets and I’m not too perfect to ever feel this worthless/It’s such a shame, you let this good love go to waste.” – from “Hold Up”
“This is your final warning/You know I give you life/If you try this s**t again you gon’ lose your wife” – from “Don’t Hurt Yourself”
“I’ve always been committed, I’ve been focused/I always paid attention, been devoted, tell me what did I do wrong?” – from “Love Drought”
“Found the truth beneath your lies/And true love never has to hide.” – from “All Night”
After the new single in Lemonade was released, fans of the former Destiny’s Child member speculated that it was Rachel Roy whom she was referring to as “Becky with the good hair.” It all started when the fashion designer posted a cryptic message on Instagram.
“Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light. #nodramaqueens,” she captioned her photo smiling with a friend.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Roy deleted the photo after Beyonce’s fans started attacking her on Instagram. She also decided to keep her account private to avoid cyber bullying. Rachel finally broke her silence regarding the affair with Jay Z and addressed the cheating rumors on Twitter.
Many people are wondering why Rachel Roy’s name is being dragged in the Beyonce and Jay Z divorce drama. It all started back in May 2014 when Solange Knowles had an argument with the designer at the Met Gala post-party. That incident was followed by the controversial elevator attack with her sister’s famous husband.
Roy was married to Damon Dash who used to be the business partner of Jay Z. Unfortunately, their marriage ended in 2009 when she filed for divorce. According to Daily News, Beyonce’s sister caught Rachel getting too close to the rapper, and they both didn’t like what they saw at the Boom Boom Room.
After the footage of Solange’s attack on Jay Z in the elevator leaked online, the songstress released a statement assuring everyone that they have resolved their conflicts, as reported by ET.
“What’s important is that my family and I are all good. What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that,” Solange told Lucky magazine.
ET reported a few years ago that Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s dad, claimed that the elevator attack was just a set-up to promote the couple’s On The Run tour, which means that that the three musicians made up the whole story to get more buzz.
“[They needed something to] ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick,” Knowles told Houston’s Roula and Ryan Show on 104.1 KRBE. “A Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of times. All I know is everyone is talking about it. Ticket sales went up, Solange’s album sales went up 200 percent…”
If they were able to pull off that trick a few years ago, then Beyonce and Jay Z may also be misleading their fans into thinking that the rapper had an affair with Rachel Roy through her new album.
