NASA officials have responded to the recent bewildering proliferation of claims of alien UFO spacecraft sightings close to the International Space Station (ISS) in low Earth orbit. Reacting to a new claim that emerged in the online UFO community earlier this week that the agency once again shut down live transmission after a "horseshoe-shaped" UFO appeared in the ISS live video, a NASA spokeswoman said that NASA did not intentionally shut down the feed and that the loss of video was due to loss of signals from the ISS.
But alien and UFO hunters have responded with derisive jeers to the latest statement from NASA, saying that the agency's officials were lying. The agency has been under pressure lately to respond to the multiple and often outlandish claims that evidence from cameras mounted on the ISS prove that the vicinity of the space station in low Earth orbit is a beehive of alien UFO activity and that alien races in UFOs are buzzing around the space station, monitoring it and sometimes docking to hold "exopolitical" meetings with astronauts on board the ISS.
But NASA officials have often refused to respond to inquiries about these claims from the media, saying that as a matter of policy the agency does not comment on UFO claims that come from the online UFO community. But skeptics have often criticized NASA over its policy of silence, saying that it emboldens online hoaxers and fuels the spread of paranoid cover-up conspiracy theories.NASA officials apparently decided to waive the agency's policy after a recent allegation by alien hunters of yet another incident in which NASA attempted clumsily to conceal alien UFO presence near the ISS stationed in space.
According to the notorious alien hunter Scott Waring, while watching the live ISS stream on Sunday, April 17, 2016, a glowing horseshoe-shaped or diamond-shaped UFO appeared, hovering close to the ISS, and morphed as it approached the space station slowly.
The alien hunter went on to say that as he watched the UFO hoping for a clearer view as it came closer to the ISS, NASA cut the live feed, leaving a blue screen.
"It was diamond shaped and it seemed to be changing its shape, but I think that's due to it moving ever so closer to the ISS."UFO conspiracy theorists have often accused NASA of cutting video transmission after a UFO appeared on the ISS live stream. Alien hunters accuse NASA of interrupting live transmission as part of decades-long policy of covering up evidence of UFOs and extraterrestrial life.
But NASA has responded to the allegations this week with a statement from NASA spokeswoman Tabatha Thompson, who told ValueWalk that the cuts happen when the agency's relay satellites lose signals from the ISS.
According to Thompson, "The station [ISS] regularly passes out of range of the Tracking and Relay Data Satellites used to send and receive video, voice and telemetry from the station. For video, whenever we lose signal video comes down on our higher bandwidth, called KU. The cameras will show a blue screen indicating no signal or a preset video slate, depending on where you are watching the feed."
Another NASA spokesperson also tried to debunk claims that the vicinity of the ISS is swarming with alien UFOs, saying that many of the alleged sightings were caused by "Reflections from station windows, the spacecraft structure itself or lights from Earth [that] commonly appear as artifacts in photos and videos from the orbiting laboratory."
NASA's latest statement appears to confirm claims by some skeptics that the alleged ISS UFOs are due mostly to camera lens flares caused by reflected sunlight.
But the latest statements from NASA have not changed the minds of alien hunters who remain resolutely convinced that NASA and the government are involved in a sinister plot to keep the masses in blissful ignorance about UFOs and extraterrestrial beings.
NASA's latest rebuttal sparked a flood of denunciations, with many UFO hunters accusing NASA of lying.
"NASA or Never A Straight Answer, as they are better known have been lying to everybody for many years," a believer declared "If UFOs do not exist why are all nations looking for signals from ETs, and if we are Looking for them, why can't they have found us."
"Ah yes those pesky 'lens flares' that show up every time a government agency needs an explanation," another believer commented cynically. "Gosh I've been looking out windows for quite a number of years and have yet to experience a 'lens flare.' "
