WWE News: ‘Monday Night RAW’ Results And Updated ‘WWE Payback’ Card


After last night’s WWE Monday Night RAW from London, England, the card for WWE Payback on May 1 is beginning to fill out nicely. It was revealed that both Bret Hart and Ric Flair will be ringside for the WWE Women’s Championship Match, Roman Reigns suspects that The Bullet Club will interfere in his match against AJ Styles, and The New Day learned that they’ll be facing one of the two recent NXT graduate teams when they defend the WWE Tag Team Titles.

The full results for last night’s WWE Monday Night RAW and the updated match-list for the WWE Payback 2016 card are below.

WWE Monday Night RAW Results

The following includes all of the matches and their results from WWE RAW on April 18.

  • Chris Jericho pinned Sami Zayn
  • Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady defeated The Dudley Boyz (Amore pinned Bubba Ray) — Semifinals of the No. 1 Contenders’ Tag Team Tournament
  • Baron Corbin pinned Fandango
  • The New Day and Cesaro defeated The League of Nations and The Miz (Cesaro pinned Sheamus) — Eight-Man Tag Team Match

  • Natalya, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Paige defeated Charlotte, Team B.A.D. and Summer Rae (Natalya submitted Charlotte) — Eight-Woman Tag Team Match
  • The Vaudevillains defeated The Usos (Simon Gotch pinned Jey) — Semifinals of the No. 1 Contenders’ Tag Team Tournament
  • Apollo Crews pinned Heath Slater
  • Dean Ambrose pinned Kevin Owens

Other updates and storyline progressions:

  • Dean Ambrose hosted The Ambrose Asylum with Shane McMahon as his guest. Owens, Zayn, and Chris Jericho all came out. Their matches were officially set for RAW and Payback.
  • AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows embraced, and the tag team thanked Styles for putting a good word in for them with WWE. Later on the show, they attacked Roman Reigns. While Styles claimed he had nothing to do with it, Reigns refused to believe him and accused Styles of planning to have them interfere at Payback.
  • After Dolph Ziggler did guest commentary for his match, Corbin left him laying at ringside in a post-match beat-down.
  • Epico and Primo Colón were featured in another vignette promoting Puerto Rico.

  • It was announced that Bret Hart will be in Natalya’s corner at Payback as she challenges Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Championship. Ric Flair will be in his daughter’s corner.
  • An update was given about Nikki and Brie Bella starring in Total Bellas beginning in October, a spinoff of Total Divas on E! Additionally, Natalya will be this week’s WWE representative on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
  • The Social Outcasts are supposed to leave Apollo Crews alone “forever” since he beat Heath Slater. If he had lost, he agreed to become a member of their faction.
  • After Ambrose defeated Owens, Jericho came out and attacked Ambrose. Jericho was the last man standing as Monday Night RAW went off the air.

WWE Payback airs live on the WWE Network on Sunday, May 1 at 7/6c.

WWE Monday Night RAW airs live on the USA Network at 8/7c. Replays of WWE RAW aren’t made available on the WWE Network until several weeks after the original air date. However, a 90-minute version of Monday Night RAW is available to stream on-demand the following day with a Hulu Plus subscription.
