‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Shawn Backs Out Of Adoption, Refuses To Give Up ‘Her Baby,’ Falls For Nick–Sage Headed For Fairview?

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Shawn (Devon Martinez) will decide to keep her baby after delivering him prematurely. Shawn knows that she may not be able to give him everything he deserves, but her maternal instinct kicks in–she cannot help, but refuses to give him up. For Sage Newman (Kelly Sullivan), the news that the adoption fell through is devastating for her, and she blames Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) for sway her to do what’s best for herself.

Soap Opera Digest hinted a few weeks ago that Shawn will not only keep a tight hold on her baby and not give him up, but she will fall in love with Nick. It seems that the storyline seems to be pointing in the direction that Sage will lose her only (so she thinks) chance at being a mother to Shawn’s son, and could lose her husband to the young mother. While it seems unlikely that Nick would cross that line with Shawn, the Young and the Restless spoilers tease the teenage mother definitely has feelings for him brewing. If Sage feels threatened, it could be enough to send her over the edge, which could earn her a trip to Fairview — and put her in Patty Williams’ (Stacy Haiduk) orbit.

The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Shawn will bond with her infant and refuse to leave his side. Sage watches in horror as she realizes that her plan to adopt David is slipping from her fingertips. Sage mourns the baby that she knows will never come home with her, and appreciate the privileged life she could give him. As a last ditch effort to save the adoption possibility, Sage offers Shawn an open adoption, which would allow her to be a part of her baby’s life. Her plan would never work, though, because Shawn has one year to change her mind, and as she spends more time with David, she won’t be able to walk away from him. The whole situation is Sage and Nick’s worst nightmare.

Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Sage will realize that it is a losing battle, and she will give up on the adoption. Sage knows firsthand that the maternal instinct is not something she can fight against, and knows in her heart that Shawn will decide to keep David. The real question is, will Sage spiral into a deep depression after the adoption fails, and end up in Fairview (again)? And if so, will Sage be able to get Patty to tell her that Sharon’s baby is her son, Christian?

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Patty should be appearing on the soap opera mid-April, so the fans can expect to see her anytime now. With Dylan (Steve Burton) on the case to find out the details of Sharon’s (fake) birth, it’s only a matter of time before they uncover that Sully is Christian, and rip the baby away from the parents he has bonded with over the past few months. The only question that remains now, what will happen with Shawn and her baby, and what is her true endgame with Sage and Nick?
