Cara Delevinge Overcomes Depression Thanks To Girlfriend Annie Clark?

Cara Delevinge is back in the modeling world with a bang! She is now the new face of Saint Laurent and has endless Instagram pictures to prove it. And the rumor is that she could only be back in front of the camera thanks to her girlfriend, Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, who helped her overcome depression.

“Months after declaring that she was leaving modeling, Cara Delevingne made her return with a new spread for Saint Laurent,” according to USA Today. “The infamously-eyebrowed model has kept busy during her hiatus from fashion with a few movie roles, but her new gig is also noteworthy — she’s the new face of Saint Laurent’s ‘La Collection de Paris,’ which we saw a preview of during Paris Fashion Week at what was potentially Hedi Slimane’s last show.”

But that doesn’t mean that the road back to high fashion has been easy for her. Recently, Cara Delevinge confessed on Twitter that she suffers from depression, and she took time off purposefully to heal herself.

“Can we just set the record straight,” Cara tweeted. “I never said I was quitting modeling. I do not blame the fashion industry for anything. I suffer from depression and was a model during a particularly rough patch of self hatred. I am so lucky for the work I get to do but I used to work to try and escape and just ended up completely exhausting myself.”

Having a loving girlfriend by her side has definitely been a big help to the model-slash-actress as she began finding her footing in the world.

Cara even featured Annie Clark on her Instagram.

They have happily been dating for quite some time now. They started to appear together for events last fall.

“The fashionable duo was spotted holding hands and adorably posing for the photogs shortly before [Burberry] runway show took place, where they watched from the front row, naturally,” reports E! Online.

This appearance was preceded by an interview that the 23-year-old model gave to Vogue, announcing that she is in love with Annie Clark.

“I think that being in love with my girlfriend is a big part of why I’m feeling so happy with who I am these days,” she said to Vogue. “And for those words to come out of my mouth is actually a miracle.”

Cara and Annie may have also moved in together.

“The 23-year-old actress and her partner, 33, have only been dating for a year but are reportedly keen to take their relationship to the next level by setting up home in Paris, France, while Cara shoots her new movie Valerian,” reports the Mirror.

A source told the publication, “Their relationship has been very intense and things have moved along quickly but they feel they can face the pressure of moving in together.”

The bigger rumor is that they may even be engaged! The Mirror also reported that the singer and model were “spotted wearing matching rings as they attended a charity event for marine conservation fund Project 0 in London” last year. While these can be just normal rings that couples present to each other to commemorate milestones, Annie and Cara’s bands may represent something much more serious.

Wherever their relationship may be, it seems clear that Cara’s girlfriend, being 10 years older, has helped pull the actress out of her depression.
