Ginger Zee Resonates Bindi Irwin On ‘Dancing With The Stars’, Joy And Enthusiasm Lands her In Top Three
Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars has begun, and there were many surprises in store on night one of the dance competition. One of those surprises was Good Morning America’s meteorologist, Ginger Zee. She is paired with pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, and they tore up the ballroom floor with their jive on Monday night’s premiere.
Ginger and Val were just one of twelve couples who showed America what they could do with their dancing skills, as reported by Yahoo News. The celebrities and their pro partners had their first round of dances as they compete for that coveted mirror ball trophy. The weathergirl and her hunky partner danced so well that they landed in the top three, along with Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd, as well as Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold.

Ginger’s coworkers and good friends, Robin Roberts and Amy Robach, had flown to LA to see her first dance, and they had to be back to New York by morning, but they had a great time.

Ginger Zee just had a baby three months ago, but you certainly wouldn’t know it by watching her shake her booty on the dance floor. She has already shown that she has charisma, enthusiasm, and definitely lights up the ballroom. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said it quite well after she and her other two cohorts, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, were expressing their delight on how well Ginger did.
“You have something phenomenal. You are infectious … just pure joy.”
The judges gave the couple a score of 23 out of 30, putting them into the top three. The threesome also agreed that the 35-year-old supermom resonated the last Dancing with the Stars winner, Bindi Irwin, and her joy and enthusiasm, out on the dance floor. It was obvious as she danced the jive that Zee loved every minute of this rare opportunity to be a part of the competition.
Zee, who is a Michigan native, has been giving many updates on her grueling rehearsal schedule. She has been commuting back and forth between New York for her job at GMA and Los Angeles where the dance competition is held each week. Not to mention the fact that she is a new mom to baby Adrian, who has no idea that his mommy just wants to make him proud of her.
“I apologize if I’m going to leak on you because I’m breastfeeding. I’m a new mommy.”
However, the dance pro seems to be taking it all in stride. He even got to witness his first breast milk pumping. Ginger Zee is no shrinking violet when it comes to her motherly duties.
Zee had a chat with Wood TV just before she had her first dance on DWTS as she talked about how she is juggling a new baby, traveling back and forth for rehearsals, and doing her job at GMA. She said that she is happy to be back at work and that she is doing what every other mom does with having a new baby.
Ginger also dished that on her way to her first rehearsal that she got halfway there and realized that she forgot her breast pump, and that is not something that she can be without. It sounds like this girl is up to the challenge, and has her eye on that mirror ball trophy.
