Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton: Did Gwen Hint That She’s Returning For Season 11 Of ‘The Voice?’

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton continued to make a minimal effort to keep their interactions with each other professional during Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice, and Gwen dropped a big hint about her future on the NBC singing competition during one of their adorable flirt sessions.

Gwen Stefani had to vacate her swivel seat so that Christina Aguilera could return for Season 10 of The Voice, but it sounds like Gwen is pretty certain that she’ll be back in one of the coaches’ chairs for Season 11. Gwen is currently acting as Blake Shelton’s adviser during the Season 10 Battle Rounds, which means that she’s getting an inside look at what her boyfriend does to help his singers improve as the show progresses. Gwen joked that she plans to use what she’s learned when she returns as a coach.

“When I come back, I can steal all his magic ideas,” Gwen Stefani said.

A video clip of Gwen’s tease that she’s returning to the show was posted on The Voice Twitter account.

Blake Shelton responded to Gwen’s threat by saying that he’ll just have to make sure that Gwen Stefani doesn’t come back to the show, but he probably didn’t mean what he said as the country crooner has made it very clear that he wants his girlfriend back in one of those red chairs. During a December press conference, Blake Shelton tried to pressure The Voice host/producer Carson Daly into making Gwen an offer to be a Season 11 coach.

“Is she coming back to season 11?” Blake asked Carson, according to Us Weekly.

“Our chairs, we’re like Iron Chef over here. Once you’ve been in the kitchen, you’re always welcome back in the kitchen,” Carson responded.

Earlier this month, an insider told Hollywood Life that Gwen Stefani thinks that the powers-that-be should change things up for Season 11 by inviting her and Christina Aguilera to be coaches. There have never been two female coaches on the show, and so far, no female coach has won The Voice. If Christina doesn’t score a win this season, perhaps the producers would consider replacing one of the male coaches with Gwen Stefani to give the ladies higher odds of finally beating the boys. Obviously, Blake Shelton wouldn’t want to vacate his seat, so Adam Levine or Pharrell Williams would have to go.

“Gwen thinks there should be at least two female coaches on The Voice. She’s always thought that and would be thrilled to be a coach on the show alongside Christina. She has no problem with her at all and thinks the show would benefit from having more female energy.”

Perhaps Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera would consider teaming up to stop Blake Shelton from winning by using their combined girl power to distract him. Gwen could get extra flirty with her boyfriend, and Christina could up her bickering game.

Mark Burnett, the creator of The Voice, told Hollywood Life that he and the show’s other producers don’t purposely choose a coaching panel of three male singers and one female singer each season, and he’s definitely open to the idea of having more female coaches on the show.

“But absolutely we discuss all the time, we don’t care if on The Voice there were three women and one guy or whatever order,” Burnett said. “It is just the way it works out every year.”

While fans of The Voice had a blast watching Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton get their flirt on during the first two nights of the Battle Rounds, the “Make Me Like You” and “Came Here to Forget” singers were actually spending a little time apart. As The Inquisitr previously reported, Gwen had to miss attending the Kids’ Choice Awards with Blake Shelton and her boys on Saturday because she had to fulfill a few promotional obligations for MasterCard Japan. She attended Tokyo Fashion Week on Monday, and she performed a private concert for a few hundred fans on the island of Odaiba on Wednesday. According to Women’s Wear Daily, she sang her new song “Misery” live for the first time during the performance.

According to the Daily Mail, Gwen Stefani is now back in Los Angeles, and she was spotted checking her phone at the airport. No doubt, she was looking to see if Blake Shelton left her a message during her flight.
