Erika Girardi Admits To Having Critics: How Erika Jayne Handles Haters

Erika Girardi joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this season because she thought it would be fun to try. Erika, who is married to a successful lawyer, knows how to make a marriage work, as she has been married for a while. But when her co-stars learned about the age difference between Erika and her husband, they were shocked. And some of her co-stars were outraged when they learned about Erika’s second person — Erika Jayne.

According to a new report, Erika Girardi is now revealing that she does have some haters who aren’t thrilled with her work as a performer. On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Girardi revealed that she does perform as a pop singer at various clubs around the country — and actually has original songs released under her stage name, Erika Jayne.

“All artists, no matter who they are, have always come into contact with criticism. No one’s gonna like what you do 100 percent of the time,” Erika recently revealed during an interview with Fox Magazine according to Bravo. Of course, fans have already seen Erika fight her haters once this season, as Bethenny Frankel offered up her unsolicited opinion of Erika’s video for Painkiller.

Many of her co-stars did go see her live, and they were very impressed with her performance. Clearly, Erika Girardi has many supporters and fans, so she feels confident in what she does. None of the ladies on the show have questioned her career choices, but Girardi does remember her visit to the Hamptons, where Bethenny Frankel decided to question her career decisions. It wasn’t so much being a pop star, but more some branding issues.

“So I was listening [to Frankel], but at the end of the day, I have to do what I feel is right,” Erika reveals, adding, “And I stand behind my work. I think it’s great.”

Girardi has explained that Jayne came to be because she has two sides of her personality. She has the Girardi side, which is a wife to a lawyer and a housewife. And then there’s Jayne, who is a wild child. It’s a fun personality, who doesn’t mind using some crude words to get her message across. But at the same time, Jayne is all about empowering women to be the sexiest versions of themselves.

“There are two different sides of my personality, much like everyone has two different sides of their personality,” Erika explained of her party persona, Erika Jayne, adding, “I mean, it’s a profession… It’s something that I do. And I’m not Erika Jayne 24 hours a day.”

After the Hamptons episode aired, Erika Girardi might not have been too pleased with Bethenny, as she did start judging everything Erika was doing without knowing too much about her. She slammed the production of her music videos, and had an opinion about what sexy truly is. Erika’s reply? Everyone can make a margarita. In her personal blog for Bravo, she revealed that she stands firm with her decisions.

“I am not ashamed of who I am or the ideas and lifestyle I represent. I will not be fearful of what others may think or say, because at the end of the day they do not have the courage to be themselves. They live in fear of being judged by those who are of little consequence,” Girardi wrote in her blog for the show in response to Bethenny Frankel’s criticism.

What do you think of Erika Girardi having haters over her Erika Jayne persona? Are you surprised that so many people are judging her, especially since she’s had so much success?
