‘Fallout 4’ And ‘Black Ops 3’: Why This Is The Best Time To Buy For Your Xbox One

Fallout 4 released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in November 10 last year. Four days before Fallout 4 released, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on November 6. That was a good time for the gaming community, of course, but it seems that almost three months into the release of this blockbuster games, a few Xbox One and PS4 users are still floating in mid-air, trying to decipher if they want to dive in and buy Fallout 4 and Black Ops 3.

If you haven’t yet, this article will give you the biggest reasons why now is the best time to purchase Fallout 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for your lonely (we assume it’s lonely since it hasn’t been fed Fallout 4 and Black Ops 3 yet) Xbox One.

Today (February 5) until February 8 is your last chance to get the best deal out of buying Fallout 4 for your Xbox One. Why, you ask? VG 24/7 reminds us that the “Buy Fallout 4, get Fallout 3 free!” offer by Bethesda for Fallout 4 purchases are ending quite soon.

Last year at E3, Bethesda knocked our socks off with the announcement of Fallout 4. Part of that announcement was that those who buy Fallout 4 will be given free access to Fallout 3. Those who have yet to purchase both Fallout titles could start their journey into the wasteland with the older Fallout 3 and then follow up with the newer Fallout 4 (Read: Thank you, Xbox One Backward Compatibility).

However, this promotion for the Fallout 4 purchases is ending exactly on the day of Chinese New Year (if you weren’t aware), on February 8, 2016. That’s roughly three more days before the offer ends, so you better grab one now if you’re thinking about getting a copy.

In another universe — in the Call of Duty universe, to be precise — another great deal is up for grabs for Xbox One users.

Activision is offering a purchasable Points Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. For a jaw-dropping amount of $100, Black Ops 3 die-hards can purchase 10,000 points for their game. Pretty steep, eh? But wait, there’s an announcement for all those who can’t say no to sales and freebies. Express reports that Xbox One owners will have extra points when they purchase the Black Ops 3 Points Pack.

Black Ops 3 players looking to splash the cash can now pick up 10,000 points in one go for £70. Owners of the Microsoft console are also being offered an additional 3,000 points as an incentive, taking the total to 13,000.”

So that’s an extra 3,000 points for everyone buying the Points Pack on the Xbox One console. No similar package is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PC, but they are expecting something to come up soon for these platforms.

Both Fallout 4 and Black Ops 3 have received major updates on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, quite recently. Update 43.15.54.5 for Black Ops 3 is now live, fixing issues for Zombie Mode and making changes to Capture The Flag, Uplink, and the map Stronghold. It also took care of collision issues and Keepers getting stuck.

Fallout 4, on the other hand, received a new patch 1.3 which deals with a lot of bugs and image quality bumps. Company GE Force reports that they have replaced Fallout 4’s graphic settings with a new one, in cooperation with Bethesda, to bring HBAO+. HBAO+ is known to deliver the most realistic graphics, enabling extra depth and extra detail. This new setting comes with the newest Patch 1.3 for Fallout 4, an update of about 94 MB.

Patch 1.3 for Fallout 4 was first rolled out to PC users but becomes available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on Friday.
