Is Lea Michele Engaged To Matthew Paetz?
Is former Glee star Lea Michele ready to tie the knot after getting engaged to Matthew Paetz?
According to a new report by OK! Magazine, Michele and her handsome beau are engaged after Matthew popped the question to Lea “over the holidays.”
The site is alleging that the couple, who met on the set of the music video for Lea’s single “On My Way” in 2014, are ready to head down the aisle and even revealed that Paetz is even referring to Michele as his “wife” following their apparant engagement.
According to OK! Magazine‘s story, Michele “burst into tears” when her man recently asked her the big question, and revealed that Lea is “ready to go full steam ahead with Matt.”
Though Lea and Matthew are yet to publicly confirm or deny reports that they’re looking to head down the aisle, Lea posted a coy photo of herself with Matthew on her Instagram page on January 3, writing “Cheers! 2016 I’m loving you so far!” Lea, however, was not visibly wearing an engagement ring in the snap.
But wedding bells or not, Michele has made no secret of her love for the model in the past few months, and even revealed earlier this month during a candid chat with the Fempire podcast that she felt her former boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith, who passed away in 2013, would “love” her new man.
Lea added that Matthew has been “very respectful” about her former relationship with Monteith, who died following an accidental drug overdose in July, 2013, just under a year before Michele met Paetz, adding that that is something she “loves about him.”
“That again is something that I love so much about him and I really know that Cory would love him too,” Lea said, “And that’s all that we really hold within our hearts, and so does everyone else in my life.”
Lea also revealed in her candid podcast chat that she often struggles with the slew of comments referring to her past relationship whenever she posts photos of herself spending quality time with Matthew on social media.
“I love my fans. They’re incredible and they were really a part of my whole story and my whole journey with me, so I do come from a place of understanding, but it’s also really hard,” Lea said last year. “You know, every time I post a picture, then it’s just a landslide of comments that talk about my past and bring that up rather than projecting positivity,” Michele confessed to Fempire.
“I don’t think anyone is really projecting hate, it is positive …,” Lea Michele continued, “but at the end of the day, we have to remember that what we put out there, it manifests and it creates energy. You should want to be the person that chooses to take that second to do something positive.”
But despite the tragedy in her past, Lea Michele is undoubtedly looking towards the future.
“I wanted to make sure that I was okay with me, feeling strong and feeling happy on my own. I didn’t want anybody to fill any holes for me,” Lea recently confessed to FLARE magazine of how she healed before she began her relationship with Matthew almost two years ago. “I wanted to make sure that I was a whole person again and that no one was coming into my life to put me back together.”
“I needed to do that on my own. I worked very, very, very hard and I got back to that place where I was genuinely happy and strong and ready to live again and see the world and, you know, bring in more beautiful experiences,” Michele candidly continued. “And that’s when someone miraculously came into my life.”
