WWE News: Virgil Allegedly Screwed Over Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase In Business

In WWE news, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase revealed during a recent interview that Virgil, his former on-screen sidekick and off-screen traveling partner in professional wrestling, screwed him over in business in the past, and the two of them have had a strained relationship because of it, according to Wrestling Inc.

Once a professional wrestler is no longer in WWE, they oftentimes run out of the big amount of money that they used to make when they were big stars, so they rely on making personal appearances at various wrestling conventions around the country, in order to supplement the income that they make at regular jobs.

Virgil, whose real name is Mike Jones, made a good amount of money in professional wrestling, as he had a big role in WWE with Ted DiBiase and was a member of the nWo back when WCW was overpaying performers. But after his time in the business came to an end, the money simply ran out for the Tennessee native.

Since he needed to get a regular job to pay his bills, Virgil reportedly started a new career as a substitute teacher, a job that doesn’t pay nearly as much as what performers in WWE and WCW were making, but he felt that he could still milk some money out of the professional wrestling business by doing various convention appearances and hoping that nostalgic fans would still pay to see him in person.

While WWE did give him a pretty big role, Virgil knew that he was not nearly as popular as Ted DiBiase and was worried that wrestling promoters would not view him as an asset by himself, so he reportedly decided to pull a pretty clever trick out of his sleeves in order to ensure that he would make as much money as he possibly could.

Virgil allegedly started calling around and telling wrestling promoters that he and Ted DiBiase were interested in being booked for the shows, which was a ruse because DiBiase was not actually involved in the transaction, before calling the promoters back and telling them that DiBiase would not be able to make the personal appearance and that he would still fulfill his commitment to them.

The deal worked out pretty sweet for Virgil, who apparently was able to get a good amount of booking with the trick, but it started harming the unknowing Ted DiBiase, as promoters started doubting his credibility and reliability whenever the Million Dollar Man decided to start doing personal appearances on his own.

Another thing that Virgil, who is now 53 years old, allegedly did to make money was that he would go to the website that Ted DiBiase utilized to publicly announce his personal appearances and started calling the wrestling promoter to see if he could convince them that DiBiase wanted him to be there together, which worked for Virgil several times.

Once he was made aware of the dastardly thing that Virgil was doing behind his back, Ted DiBiase decided to confront the man that used to be portrayed as his butler in WWE by telling him to stop doing that and letting him know that he was willing to work together, but only if the situation was right for both of them.

Since he is a man of faith, Ted DiBiase, who has worked as a church minister for many years, reiterated that he has no ill will towards Virgil and that he actually wishes him well in life and business.

Due to the fact that it has been a very long time since they have been seen together in WWE, there might be a chance that Vince McMahon would be interested in generating a buzz by bringing Ted DiBiase and Virgil back for a funny backstage segment some day.
