Amy Schumer Finds Love With New Boyfriend Ben Hanisch
Over the summer, Amy Schumer made herself a household name by writing and starring in the comedy hit Trainwreck. The film was a story based on her college years and how unlucky in love she was, even though she wasn’t exactly looking for it at the time.
Her raunchy and unique look at love, and what makes her succeed and fail at relationships, was always the center of her stand-up comedy. Despite already having her own comedy sketch series, Inside Amy Schumer, by writing her ups and down into a major studio movie, Schumer single-handedly put her name on the map after years of being just below the radar.
Now, it looks like Schumer has found love. The comedian made her relationship official when she posted a photo on Twitter with her new man and her family at the White House.

So who is this new man of Amy’s? According to E! Online, Schumer’s new man isn’t in the industry. Ben Hanisch is a native of Chicago and is a custom furniture maker. Aside from that, going by his Instagram, he’s a stellar photographer. Check out a few of his photos:
We’re not quite sure when Schumer started dating Hanisch, but it doesn’t look like the couple isn’t shy about showing their affection towards one another on social media. After Schumer made it official on Twitter, Hanisch returned the gesture by writing a sweet post on his Instagram.
Schumer even commented on a recent Instagram post of her boyfriend’s. The furniture maker posted an adorable photo of his dog Abbott, to which Amy replied, “I’m pregnant” in the comments section. Looks like she’s smitten.
Although he’s not in the business, Harry’s magazine describes him as a “Furniture Fixer, Aspiring Actor, and Hockey Player.” Impressive!
In the feature, Amy Schumer’s love talks about his morning routine, which consists of running and scarfing down his breakfast before 8:15, and then tackling his calls for the day. An early riser and a fitness guy? Schumer’s boyfriend sounds like the perfect overachiever.
As stated, throughout her rise to fame, Schumer has been very open about living the single life. Back in 2014, she told Chelsea Handler that dating in New York is completely different from dating in Los Angeles.
“In New York I feel like I’ll get auditions to be a romantic lead, and here they’re like, ‘Oh, you’re the fat neighbor getting gastric bypass. I’m like, ‘No, people have actually had sex with me, believe it or not.'”
Schumer’s new-found success in Hollywood has also been the subject of her comedy as well. For instance, it’s not every day one gets to meet their crush, and throughout her promo for Trainwreck, Schumer spoke about what it’s like to meet Hollywood heartthrob Bradley Cooper.
After the two had a conversation at a Gala, Schumer joked, “I don’t know how Hollywood works, but I’m pretty sure that I’m dating Bradley Cooper.”
If anything, Cooper seemed to be flattered when he was asked about it, but it looks like Cooper has some “competition.” Going by the fan response over Ben Hanisch, it seems like Hanisch might “win” this one.
