‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Spoilers — New Rumors Try To Clear Up Confusion Over Robin

With the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice still a ways off, fans have been busy trying to learn anything they can about the newest film in the DCU. While many of the major details about the movie have been leaked, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding Robin’s role in the movie. With that in mind, what part will Robin play in Zack Snyder’s movie?

The questions surrounding Robin first surfaced following the trailer that was released earlier in the year. In the video, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) is seen looking intensely at his sidekick’s suit, which has been defiled by graffiti, presumably written by the Joker. Based on the scene in question, many fans began to wonder which version of Robin the suit belonged to and whether or not the character would make an appearance in the film.

According to a report by Latino Review, the suit’s rightful owner was Jason Todd, who just so happens to be the second incarnation of Batman’s famous sidekick. However, based on the words written on the costume, it would seem as though Todd was killed off by the Joker (played by Jared Leto).

That being said, Snyder’s version of the caped crusader has yet to find a replacement for Todd, even though Dick Grayson is still thought to be alive and well. Although Grayson is not expected to make an appearance in the movie, his name will be referenced for those fans savvy enough to catch it.

With Grayson still alive, it isn’t clear if Snyder has altered the storyline a bit to make Grayson the second Robin instead of Todd. If that is the case, then fans should expect to see more of Grayson in the future as the character will eventually become the new Robin.

However, it should be noted that nothing official has been released concerning the role of Robin in the new film. The reasoning behind this could just be to keep the storyline a secret, but it could also be because Robin does not play a significant role in the film. Either way, it’s too early to tell the truth of the matter without further evidence.

Aside from Robin, it was also rumored that Jena Malone was set to play the role of Carrie Kelley in Batman v Superman. In the comics, Kelley eventually becomes the first woman to play Robin and works alongside Batman in his later years.

However, it now appears as though Malone will be playing the part of Barbara Gordon instead. This, if true, leaves open the possibility that Grayson will indeed be the next Robin.

Meanwhile, in addition to the first full trailer that was released months ago, BGR is reporting that Warner Bros. has released brand new footage in an overseas version of the trailer. Although the new video is short, clocking in at the 30 second mark, it does include a few additional shots that were not featured in the first trailer.

Along with Affleck as Batman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. With all the developments continuing to surface about the movie, fans should be in for plenty of twists and surprises when the movie finally hits theaters later this year.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open in theaters on March 25. Until then, fans can expect additional trailers to be released as producers gear up for the premiere of the movie. Hopefully, this new footage will shed more light on Robin and reveal which version of the character will be included in the film.
