‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer Speaks Of ‘Exploitive Relationships,’ Claims To Have Matured After Cheating?

Leah Messer of MTV’s Teen Mom 2 claims to have matured. Although the reality star and mother of three is twice divorced and recently lost primary custody of her 6-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah, Leah Messer recently told fans she has matured with time.

On December 26, Leah Messer took to Twitter, where she shared a photo of the cover of a book, The Betrayal Bond: Breaking Free Of Exploitive Relationships, and thanked the Arizona treatment center, where she claimed to have gotten help for her anxiety and depression issues.

While Leah Messer claimed her issues were only mental, others have suggested the reality star is struggling with a secret drug habit. On Teen Mom 2 Season 6, both of Leah Messer’s ex-husbands, Corey Simms and Jeremy Calvert, spoke of her possible addiction to drugs, with Calvert citing a “prescription pill problem” during one particular scene.

Meanwhile on Twitter, Leah Messer is focused on her relationship struggles and shared the following messages with fans on December 26.

“I’ve learned you have to know who YOU are and what YOU [want] in every aspect of your life with children or not before you can ever be in a committed relationship. You knowing what you want for yourself and children, if you have any, always come first!”

“It took some time & maturity for me to learn this,” Leah Messer added.

Leah Messer may feel as though she’s matured, but just two months ago, she lost primary custody of her twins to Simms, who had filed for full custody of the children in 2014. Below is what a source revealed of Leah Messer’s custody loss to In Touch Weekly in October.

Corey Simms, “was awarded primary custody, effective immediately” on October 13, the source explained. “[Leah Messer] only gets the girls on the weekends now.”

“The judge looked at the girls’ school records, which show that they’ve been late for school, and made the change in custody.”

The report also claimed Messer’s second husband, Calvert, could file for custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Adalynn, after she was found by police wandering out of Leah Messer’s home.

Following a 2011 divorce from Simms, which came after Leah Messer admitted to cheating, and a 2015 divorce from Calvert, who also accused Leah Messer of being unfaithful, Leah Messer began dating and living with her personal trainer, Theodore “T.R.” Dues. However, despite their relationship having started several months ago, both Leah Messer and Dues have remained silent in regard to their romance. In fact, they’ve denied dating a number of times, but recently confirmed, albeit accidentally, the relationship by each sharing a photo of their Christmas tree, which was the same, on Facebook (the Ashley’s Reality Roundup was first to notice this).

While Leah Messer was reportedly dating Dues towards the second half of Teen Mom 2 Season 6, he was not seen at all on the show. Even after Leah Messer moved into the home where they are said to be living together, Dues was completely absent and didn’t even get a mention as the series continued. Then, during the reunion, Dues was finally spoken of by Simms, who claimed one of his and Leah Messer’s twins had informed him that Dues was living with their mother in West Virginia.

As for whether or not Dues will be seen alongside Leah Messer on the upcoming seventh season, which is currently in production, that has yet to be determined. However, it would be extremely odd if Leah Messer chose to keep him away from the cameras due to their seemingly serious relationship.

Leah Messer and the cast of Teen Mom 2, including Jenelle Evans, Kailyn Lowry, and Chelsea Houska, will return to MTV for Season 7 sometime next year.
